Psalms 97-98

The Lord Reigns

97:1 The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Fire goes before him
and burns up his adversaries all around.
His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.

The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.
All worshipers of images are put to shame,
who make their boast in worthless idols;
worship him, all you gods!

Zion hears and is glad,
and the daughters of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgments, O Lord.
For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.

10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord

A Psalm.

98:1 Oh sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The Lord has made known his salvation;
he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
the world and those who dwell in it!
Let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills sing for joy together
before the Lord, for he comes
to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity. (ESV)

  1. Dan Lauder says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    One response to God’s awesomeness and glory that we should have is to hate sin. While in some cases it may be easy to hate the evil and sin in our world (when someone steals something from you or harms someone you know) at other times it may not. We may be tempted to compromise and blend into a world of evil that is not our home. Another temptation that we all face is to not hate sin in ourselves as much as we do in other people. Each day I need to commit to saying no to the sin in my life that I can identify. I need to hate it, repent of it, and say yes to righteousness as I trust in Christ.

  2. Beth Lauder says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    The same verse stood out to me, Dan! This verse reminds us that only those who hate evil have a reason to rejoice in God’s righteous rule. Anyone can say he is a Christian, but what does his life look like? As Dan said, does he hate sin in himself and in others? If we claim to be Christians we must be sure that we are living lives of holiness and obedience to God’s Word. If not, then we are offered no protection from God. There is joy to all those who love and serve God and definite wrath coming upon all those who disobey God and His gospel. (2 Thes.1:8-9) Thank You, God, for convicting me of my sin when I miss the mark. Help me to confess my sins to You and truly repent so that I might live a life of joy and closeness to You.

  3. Marissa Ramirez says:

    7 All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods!

    This verse mostly refers to me, because I some people that do worship other gods. Some of the people are the ones in my family. It is hard to talk to them and say it is wrong what you are doing. But, most of the time I just refer to the ten commandments. Telling them that our God is a jealous God and you should not worship any idols or Gods besides him. Also in verse 9 it days that he is far above all gods. Leaving on a good note there is one idol greater than all that is God.

  4. 7 All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods!

    This is an awesome Psalm praising God for being the Most High God, the Creator and protector of the righteous. I like how verse 6 says that all people see God’s glory in creation, so that everyone who worships false gods is put to shame. I know we might think we don’t have idols just because we don’t have little statues in our house that we bow down to. But an idol is anything we give priority in our life over the Lord. This can be school, a job, relationships, kids, reputation, our feelings…the list could go on! But if we turn to these other things how shameful of us when God’s glory is so evident and we should be turning to him! My prayer today is that I won’t let circumstantial things allow me to look to people or to myself for help but that all day I would turn to the Most High in prayer and worship him alone!

  5. Riley Hancock says:

    9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

    God loves us so he sent his son to die for us. And someday in the near future he will judge us and the world for the sins weve made. But we will be ready for his return.

  6. Elise says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    If I claim to love God, I should hate evil like He does! I should HATE the sin in my life and always be working to eliminate it when I see it. I don’t want to eliminate sin because I think it can save me, or make God love me more. I want to sin less because I love God and I want to obey Him. I have talked to people who have just listened to a very convicting sermon, yet when I ask them about it, it seems like they don’t really care about whether the sin is there or not in their life. Either that, or they constantly assume that the message applies to someone else- someone who seems to sin more than they do. Here, we see that in response to God’s grace in delivering us from Hell, we need to love Him and that means hating sin and trying to eliminate it from our life: NO COMPROMISE!

  7. jacksondahl says:

    3 Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.
    4 His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.
    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

    The amazing glory of the LORD is something I often don’t think about- and I need to. His power and glory are unending. If He can melt mountain like wax, what problem can’t He solve in my life? Nothing is too big for God! In the same way, this verse also shows his incredible wrath… there’s going to be a serious can opened on anyone who doesn’t repent and put their faith in him, so I need to go out and evangelize so God can save as many people from his wrath as possible!

    MARANATHA!!! See you all tonight!

  8. GaBrIeL VoRiS 2010 says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    If anybody claims to be a Christian they must hate all evil. They must hate anything that is disobeying what the Lord commanded us to do. So many people who claim to be Christians today love evil and love taking art in evil things. I pray that I always will hate evil and I may not get caught up in a lifestyle that loves evil things. I want to always hate sin and all the sin that i commit.

  9. Mr. KJ says:

    Recently I posted a blog about using technology to revolutionize the campus lunches! So click on my name to check it out if you want…I think it’s going to be cool!

    1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.

    Powerful start! No heistation in saying that God reigns! It’s a good thing that God does reigns, otherwise this world would be much more messed up! The Psalmist says that the earth should be glad!

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    This verse is so awesome! This verse I’m thinking, if I love the Lord then I should be hating evil. I need to have the mindset of that. I need to hate evil. Then the verse goes on to say that God guards His people and delivers them from the wicked.

  10. Brooke Miller says:

    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    These are intense pictures in my mind! This definitely shows how mighty our God is! The mountains melt like wax before the Lord? Wow, that is pretty great! God is in control of everything and I need to have the mindset of giving the Lord my complete best because he demands 100% of me! God is also righteous and perfect! God wants to get the glory, and I want to give him the glory he deserves! Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he is LORD! MARANATHA!

  11. Christy Beymer says:

    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

    This verse stood out to me cause I started to imagine this happening. God is that big and holy that he can make mountain melt like wax! mountains are strong and sturdy but when put in comparison to God, they are weak. Now I imagine myself in front of God and how weak I must look. It really makes me think about how amazing and selfless he is. He loves all of us and that is such an amazing blessing.

  12. Jasmine Wonton :) says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    I need to hate everything evil and of the world. No compromise! Anything that can lead to sin or make myself compromise I need to run as fast as I can away from it and run to Jesus. It’s sad to see how this world glorifies and brags about evil and sin. They show it off and flaunt it. Everyday I see people who claim to be Christians liking evil and getting caught up it the same way as I see unbelievers. That is not a mark of someone on God’s team. I can only be on one team. I can’t serve two masters or be in between things. I pray that I can keep my heart and mind focused only on the Lord so I wouldn’t be distracted by evil. My goal for this year is that my life needs to be so radically different and alien that I stand out so much. I also want to finish off my last year of high school serving God and evangelizing as much as I can! God is always there to protect me from the wicked and He guards my life.

  13. Jenae nae :) says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    Yess if we are on God’s team we have to hate sin!! That shouldnt even be an issue, it shouldnt be a desire! God is so awesome and he wants nothing to do with that (=

  14. Ben Blakey says:

    1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad;

    The fact that the Lord reigns shouldn’t just be something that I understand, it should be something that causes gladness and rejoicing. It’s cool to see how that’s the first connection this Psalm makes.

    And hopefully it will be cool to see you all at True North this weekend!

  15. Cameron says:

    3 Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.

    while God is merciful and gracious, He is also an angry God, a God who cannot tolerate sin or wickedness. there will be a day when His wrath is poured out on the nations, and He will judge with righteousness and justice. but as Christians, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). but we need to remember that the reason we are on this earth is to glorify God, AND to make disciples. there will be a day, and the Bible tells us it will be soon, when God’s wrath will be poured out, and like this verse says, fire will go out from Him and consume His foes (all unrepentant sinners). it is our job as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) to make disciples of all nations, so lets be faithful to the Word of God and make disciples!

  16. Steffen Eriksen says:

    4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

    5 make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,

    This is music that is more than worth singing! God deserves all praise and worship from everybody. The psalmist writes to shout for joy to the LORD and burst into joyful and exuberant song, making music with the harp and the sound of singing. And this is what worship should be: praising God! Many people waste time worshiping things that don’t matter, but God matters more than all else and should be praised and worshiped by all. And the music the world listens to isn’t usually anything good. In fact, it will have a negative impact on those who listen to it. Christians should be listening to music worth singing, that is praising God, instead of falling into the world and its interest in sin and pleasure. And like the psalm talks about praising God with the harp and the sound of singing, we are blessed with even more instruments that we can use to praise God. But most importantly, the sound of singing! I need to shout for joy to the LORD, that I am blown away and overwhelmed with all that He has done and my only response to Him is to boldly worship His name! I need to be bursting with worship and praise, singing loud to the LORD my God!!

  17. Pastor Bobby says:

    Psalm 98:1 Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

    Sometimes it is so refreshing to just read a straightforward verse like this and think: YES! I like to sing! I love it when we worship at True North! I need to get pumped up for worshiping God! He has worked salvation for me! He has done marvelous things that I could not imagine! And with heaven as my hope I know the best is yet to come!

    Mmm…just reading this right now has got me psyched to sing to God tonight at True North! Listen, I am going to be extra loud…of course, maybe you won’t be able to hear me because you will be singing out praising God with all your heart too!

    See you at True North!

  18. Shane McCuistion 2010 says:

    4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

    5 make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,

    6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the LORD, the King.

    I am trying to imagine here a huge performance of about 500 people playing instruments in perfect tempo and rhythm. And we were all playing worship songs. That would sound so awesome!!!! Worship is something that I really enjoy and that is something that I am anxious to see in Heaven. Worship in Heaven would sound unbelievable!!!! I am ready to worship God today whole heartedly!!!!!

  19. Ryan Cox says:

    7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
    8 Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy;
    9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

    Sorry, but the English teacher in me can’t ignore the personifications here, but the cool thing about the Bible is that sometimes figurative language can become literal. This reminds me of when Jesus, in Luke 19, says that even if he tells the people to stop praising him, the very rocks will cry out his praise. Even Gods inanimate/non-human creation glorifies him in someway, & will do so even more @ his second coming & in the New Jerusalem. Maranatha, yet again!

  20. Kelsey says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    I like this verse becuase it offers both instruction and inspiration. God is so faithful. He deserves all of our praise. He will protect us in anything, we just need to remain faithful in Him, and even by doing that we do not do nearly enough to escape his wrath, yet he mercifully spares us out of His love.I know that I personally need to praise him more and make sure that I am constantly turning away from evil. This verse will help remind me of that.

  21. Chelseaaaaa says:

    1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.

    For now and Forever the Lord will reign. His beauty unfathomable, His majesty indescribable. How lucky are we to have Him on our side? Or to have the chance to be on His?

  22. Lauren Goudge says:

    heellooo!!
    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.—I really need to learn to just stay away from wickedness and jusr avoid it with all I can! I do not want to be sucked into what the devil is trying to get me to do! I need to keep in heart and mind what God wants me to do. If I really love the LORD I know that I will hate what He hates and stay far away from it. He will guard me from evil if I just be 100% on his team and not towards Satan’s team. I am going to have NO COMPROMISE on staying standing and not being brought down! EVER!! My prayer is that God will break my heart for what breaks his!
    MARANATHA!!!

    TRUE NORTH TONIGHT!!! better see you all there!

  23. Eric Walker says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    I have been praying for this for a while now and I will continue to. I have been praying that I would choose God every time over sin and that I would despise sin with a passion and love God with a whole heart. Praise the Lord and we all should make this our prayer!!!!

  24. Matthew Crane says:

    4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

    this verse from Psalm 98 reminds me of what Ty always said and probably still says today. He would say, “Okay guys lets be joyfully serious, but also SERIOUSLY JOYFUL in the name of the Lord!”

    I started picturing my self actually shouting for Joy to God, and bursting into a song just singing to the Lord, and in my head it lookedd awesome! But now i think about it and it is actually really hard, butI need to remember the Gospel that saves me, and then i can sing as loud as i can haha because remembering this is what pushes me through my walk with God!

  25. Tanner says:

    ELLO… I read

    I like verse 1,”Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.”

    I like this verse because it talks about what GOD has done. It says sing to the LORD a new song HE has done marvelous things. We have done evil and I am amazed that we are even aloud to sing to GOD because of all the sins I have committed.

    sometimes it is easy to think that God is our big buddy, or our friend or daddy, but then you read the bible and you come across a verse like this one and it shows us that God is the great I AM. he rules the earth and he is in control, he is powerful and perfect. it truely describes who God is

  27. Haley Litz says:

    Psalm 97
    1 The LORD reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice.
    2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
    3 Fire goes before him and consumes his foes on every side.
    4 His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.
    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    GOD IS SOOO AWESOME!!!!!!! He is the Creator and rules over all and rightfully so! He is so powerful!!! It says the mountains melt like wax before the LORD. How awesome is that! God is so amazing and He is the best and He deserves all my praise and my life and all I can give Him!! Praise God for who He is!!!

  28. Angela Voris says:

    97:10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    Just saying how if we love the Lord and live for him then we should hate evil and alll wickedness.

    98:9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

    Rejoice in the Lord, and be ready for the judging for he will judge with righteousness and will treat all equal no matter what you have done.

  29. Michael Downs says:

    The verse that spoke out to me was verse

    I like verse 1,”Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; hs right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.”

    That verse means that we shouldworship always in school and out of sc hool rejoice the lord always.

  30. mr. Wilemon says:

    THis passage in the beginning of it at least tells of Gods true power. I really llike how the Psalmist puts it.

  31. Murphy Danahy says:

    11 Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.

    When you do something wrong, do you want others to know. To use a bit of a cliche example, when you were a kid and you broke something, did you walk up and go “Mommy, I broke your hundred dollar lamp,” or did you, in a rush of childish stupidity, hide the lamp under her bed and hope she wouldn’t notice? The second, duh. It doesn’t work that way with GOD. You do something wrong, he knows. We should be thinking, do we want this brought to light?

  32. nathan ortiz says:

    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    7 All who worship images are put to shame, those who boast in idols— worship him, all you gods!

    This is so true many people have idols and put them before God, and sometimes i put things before reading the bible and i need to have God be my number one priority even if i am busy.

  33. Rebekah Foreman says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.’

    We need to hate evil we are faced with it everyday at public high schools and we should try and change it. God is with us though when we are around thee wicked. God guards our hearts and minds and let us not be tempted with the wicked around us.

  34. Michelle [slave for christ] 2010 says:

    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    mmm i cant wait til the day that every person on this earth will believe in God and will see His glory! God is so great and I need to set my mind on things above all the time so that i can constantly be reminded of His good deeds towards me. Like Bobby said a few weeks ago, just look at the sky. Look around, and see the beauty that the Lord has displayed in front of us…that alone is a sign of His glory. I cant wait to be in heaven and rejoice in the Lord and worship Him….and again, like Bobby said…if we think the worship at church is awesome, just wait until we get to heaven!!!i literally cant wait.im on the edge of my seat.Lord come quickly!!

    maranatha maranatha marantha!!!!!!!!!

  35. Mady says:

    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    I cannot wait until the day when I am in heaven with all of the other Christians proclaiming CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS! It is so encouraging to know that because I am a Christian there is NO doubt in my mind that I will be in heaven one day praising Jesus eternally!! i cant even imagine doing anything better than that! MARANATHA!!!!!

  36. lucas garcia says:

    12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

    We Need to Praise to our Lord everyday!!!
    MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  37. Melissa Cox says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    I want to be sure that as a follower of Christ I hate evil. I don’t ever want to get near the line that separates sin from righteousness. Rather than dabble in sin or tolerate a little bit of sin in my life, I want to run from that line and get as far from it as possible!

  38. Fëanor says:

    9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

    This makes me feel fear for all the people who aren’t Christians. Everybody will be judged. We can’t stand up to God righteousness without Jesus blood to cover us. All the people who aren’t Christians are heading towards Hell and they don’t know it. This verse definitely motivates me to evangelize with more boldness.

  39. Katie Slusher says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    Hmm, do I hate evil or do I refuse to take action and tolerate sin in my own life? This verse reminds me of the line in the song Hosanna, “Break my heart for what breaks yours.” As a follower of Christ, I need to take a serious approach to evil and sin. I need to actively engage in removing it from my life, refusing to tolerate what the Lord hates.

  40. kelly causky says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    We don’t just have to stay away from evil things, we have to HATE them. God does not have a hint of evil in him, so in order to be close to him and love him, we have to flee from evil and pursue righteousness. The Lord guards Christians’ lives. This is comforting to know God is always with us and he keeps the faithful away from evil.

  41. John Karlsson says:

    Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked

    God hates sin and so should we as Christians. Do you hate the sin in your life or do you tend to overlook it and think that God will understand because he is a forgiving God? While it is true that God is love and forgives us Christians when we sin. Its also true that sins grieves the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. Our bodies are temples of God who hates sin and could never live with or accept sin. We are only accepted because Jesus Christ paid our debt for sin. God was pleased to punish Jesus Christ for our sins. Thats why are sin is washed away. God is amazing in his mercy and grace and we should be grateful beyond word and should want to never sin, because we love the God who saved us so much. See you at True North tomorrow!

  42. Evan McKee says:

    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

    wow. This is deffinitely someone that I am glad is on our side. it makes me feel so safe that He who is this powerful is guarding me and will even help me to succeed in obeying his commands.

  43. It's Daniel Yo! says:

    5 The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.

    Just like Evan commented….This verse is intense! it’s a great visual of God’s power!

  44. Laura Johnson says:

    V. 9

    there’s nothing or no one that comes even close to how awesome God is! No one else has created the oceans, the sky, the sun, moon, stars, and life itself. I want to remember to live no compromise because nothing in this world will brings me more joy or purpose than serving the one and only true living Gid and to always focus all I have on Him.

  45. Allie Moorefield(: says:

    9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
    Good verse! God comes to judge the earth! He is the one who judges people. I used to care a lot about what people thought of me or how they judged me, but i have learned that the only opinion i should fear is the Lords. His opinion is the one that truly matters! Who cares what people think of you. God is the ultimate one, who judges the earth. At the girls sleepover we talked about being beautiful in Gods eyes! Lets be beautiful in His eyes instead of others!

  46. Dan Blankenship says:

    Psalm 97

    2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
    6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.

    In the scriptures we hear a lot about God’s righteousness. Verse two describes the very foundation of God as righteousness and justice. God in his very nature is pure and holy who hates sin and deals with it in a right and just way.

    11 Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart.

    12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

    Verses eleven and twelve speak to those who follow the righteousness of God by following the law of God. If we live a righteous life we will live a life pleasing to God and filled with his joy. We are only found to be righteous thru the blood of Christ and the forgiveness of sin. If our lives are not marked by joy than we need to check our heart to make sure that we are right with God.

    John 16:20 I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.

  47. Mark says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    We cannot love the LORD and also love the world!! God would rather have us be on Satan’s side than for us to be in the middle and on the fence. We need to be all in for God and completely resent evil!!

    MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. Jasmine Douglas says:

    10 Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

    The first part of this verse is pretty self explanatory. We are to hate sin!! Every choice we make either pleases the Lord, or Satan. I choose the Lord!!! Think about it, every time we sin, Satan is very pleased with our decision. Why would we give him victory over Christ? When we are faced with temptation, let’s pray the Lord is glorified and that we live a life of holiness, pleasing to HIM, making the right choices. When we are faithful, he promises to deliver us from the hands of the wicked. He is our protector =)
