Ther’s more to come that’s not written in the Bible – but what is written is sufficient. Time to do what it says – or not. I’m glad that I don’t have to fret about the “or not” scenario: there is security in Christ. It just scares me for my friends and relatives and co-workers that will, in a blink of an eye, feel the wrath of God. Lord, please come soon and send me to more people today!

Thinking about Easter and reading Revelation has really gotten me excited as of late for the return of Jesus Christ. Heaven is going to be so awesome, and I can’t wait to be with Jesus Christ my Savior. But just like the prophecy was also bitter in John’s stomach, its so depressing to read about the people who reject Christ, even when judgment is right before their eyes, and will be sent to Hell forever. Once its over, there is no going back. LORD, please help me to take the salvation of nonbelievers so much seriously and with extreme effort, because if they don’t repent they will suffer forever. Please help me to be willing to undergo whatever awkwardness, breaks in the social norm, or even persecution to evangelize so they can be saved, because their eternal salvation is so worth a little suffering on my part.

Wow this chapter was intense and you really had to think about what was being said. First to continue to read about what is to come just brings me more joy and hope because I know that I am saved from all of the wrath God will unleash on this earth. Second, it brings a heart of thankfulness because I know that Jesus reached down and snatched me from the firey pits of hell. And third I know that some day all the mysteries about God will be revealed and our heart will be filled with the complete knowledge of who God is. We will dwell in perfect light in perfect unity and with perfect peace.
Help me Lord, to remember that I am a stranger here on this earth and that my hope is found in you and what is to come, not in the temporal here on this earth. No matter what the situation or circumstance I can stand with complete confidence in my Lord and savior Jesus Christ know that he paid it all and that one day I will see him face to face.

I thought this was interesting. Eating the scroll? All I remember, according to my Study Bible, Ezekiel also was commanded to eat the scrolls, possibly signifying that he was ingesting the Word of God in order to prophesy.

This reminds me of when John described Jesus. Whenever the bible describes an angel it blows my mind. Trying to imagine someone that looks like this and sounds like a roaring lion or roaring water is hard for me. It’s like trying to describe someone who is just pure awesome! haha

I found the last verses were the scroll tasted sweet yet was bitter with the stomach reminded me of how the world can be sweet and luring but in the end its going to greatly ruin them. Thats why it is our job to go out and tell people that the world can be decieving! Its great to be on SOTD! oh btw campus lunch went awesome today!!!!

God IS the creator of all things. I love that i can rest in his sovereignty and that his plan is so perfect. As I was reading this, I thought, praise GOD for saving me and for not allowing me to witness his wrath against the world. It breaks my heart every time I hear people mock the Lord and deny him. I’m reading Revelation thinking, COME ON, PEOPLE! WAKE UP! This is not something to take lightly and again I’m praying for boldness to share the good news before Christ’s return more and more.

I like this chapter its so descriptive on what is going on its a little shorter than the previous chapters but it gives a vivid picture about what is going on clearly showing that no one could have made this up. GOD’s word is true and does not contradict itself in any way and has things in it that are not found anywhere else making it one of a kind.

One awesome thing about the book of Revelation is that despite what terrible thing its describing that is going to happen to the people that don’t follow God, or if its just talking about other things that are going to happen, God’s power and majesty is always made note of! Our God is so incredible, and everything he does is awe-inspiring. Sometimes I overlook things like verse six.. but when I really stop and think.. God CREATED heaven, the earth, the sea… and everything else! This is such an incredible thing. I am so amazed at the majesty and glory of the Lord!

this must have been a very amazing/crazy sight, you see an angel and he speaks like a roaring lion and made seven thunders sound just by speaking and this is only one of Gods creation! i can only imagine how great and awesome God himself is

Although this chapter was shorter and a bit more cryptic than some of the previous ones, these verses stood out to me in their bold declaration that God’s plan will be fulfilled. While Revelation is sometimes tough to access, it’s important to remember and truly know that these things will come to pass. God will pass judgment on the righteous and unrighteous. He is the alpha and the omega, and His wrath is coming without delay. At the same time, these verses also get me pumped for heaven and the day when the mystery of God will be revealed to me. To be able to be in God’s presence and know Him fully is going to be more incredible than anything. It will be more incredible than what I consider incredible to even mean. Words like incredible and awesome are going to be useless in trying to describe His majesty and glory when at last it is fully revealed.

In the last book of the Bible we are still reminded of Genesis 1. God is Creator and will always be remembered as Creator. God is forever and he has created everything there is. One day soon he is going to be fed up with our sin and come and judge. These verses speak of God’s awesome power of creation but a lot of Revelation shows his awesome power of judging and destroying those who rebel against him.

Awesomely confusing yet wonderful chapter! Its so awesome to get a glimpse into the future, yet not all of it! I like verse 7 because God is making it clear that he is always faithful to us and he will fulfill ALLof the things he said he would, including ‘fulfilling the mystery of God’. I cannot wait for that day- when we can finally see God and others will also bow down to him and confess that He is Lord! I need to remember his faithfulness and the fact that these awesome things that he recorded for us will happen!

This passage says a lot about God. He is everlasting. He is the creator. He will fulfill his Word. Revelation not only gives us a great glimpse into the future; it also shows us who God is everyday!

This chapter is sooo cool! The fact that what is described in this chapter seems like something from a juicy imagination but is actually real and created by God, the ultimate designer and mastermind, is so astounding…This verse specifically reminds me of how we need to trust God even when we know something may taste sour before it tastes sweet (or vice verca). It can be hard to listen and obey God’s commands sometimes and resist temptation, yet if we keep a clear conscience we should be strong enough to make the right decision and discipline ourselves. Even when you must do something you don’t want to, once you do it you feel grateful for having made the decision to take that action. Therefore the moment of accomplished sweetness is better than bitter regret.

Heaven is unfathomable. That is an overused statement, but it is soooo true. We wouldn’t even be able to make up these things that God has in store for us. It is so much more than our human minds can comprehend. We have an amazing God, let’s praise Him and his creation, not the “wisdom” of this world..

Just a little glimpse of how some Heavenly creatures think of God…He’s the one who created everything…and everything that is IN everything! Everything on the earth belongs to Him…including, and especially people. Praise the eternal God who does live forever and ever and Jesus Christ who rose again and defeated death so that we can live forever with Him. Can’t wait to celebrate Easter!

This sweet/bitter relationship is very prevalent in our desire for Christ’s return. As a Christian, there is nothing I should want more than to be with Jesus, sinless and able to worship Him forever. Yet when I look around me, I know that His return would mean Judgement for the majority of the people that I see. So while I am praying MARANATHA daily, it cannot be a hope that does not lead to action. i need to make the most of the time I have left here in Earth by boldly spreading the Gospel to everyone that I can!

Revelations is making me soo excited for heaven! Seeing an angel descending from heaven would be insanely amazing, these descriptions are out of this world crazy, i need to make sure that i am living always with a hope and certainty in heaven! maranatha

It would be so cool to see an angel coming down from heaven. Just the derscription of the angel makes me think of how holy,magnifacent,and powerful God is. This verse makes me want to go to heaven even more. MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

When i read that it amazes me and i can only imagine what that would look like. It makes me want to paint it how cool would that be :)

Sometimes I take for granted God’s wonderful creation. I need to thank Him more for being the creator of the heavens and the earth. It leaves me in awe and I can’t wait to live forever in Him in heaven!

This chapter is smaller and less action packed than the others. But while reading today, I was thinking how cool it is that John had this relationship with God, where God revealed His plan through John’s dreams. Even though God mostly does not work like this in this day and age, I cannot wait for Heaven so I can have an intimate relationship with God.

It is really good to look at all of this God planned soo long ago. It is amazing how his profecies are fulfilled

I’m lovin’ this description of God’s angel. It reveals God’s power in all it’s splendor once more!! The rainbow made me think twice about the meaning. I thought maybe the rainbow was a reminder of God’s faithful promises?? That maybe God chose to use the rainbow to provide hope?? Just a guess!! :D

This is amazing. On the day described here we will see GOD’s full and complete plan happen. On that day everything that GOD has promised and everything he has said would happen will come to pass. It will be amazing.

-I’m thinking man I hope God gives me a lot of authority in heaven like this angel has. That would be awesome.
-I think it’s interesting, this angel has a similar appearence like Jesus. This angel face is also like the sun.
-I think it’s cool, this angel has his feet staggered with one foot on the ocean and the other on land.

11 And I was told, “You must again prophesy about many peoples and nations and languages and kings.”

John was a prophet. I’m thinking about the word “prophet” lately. A “prophet” is one who speaks for God. I’m thinking if we preach the gospel, then we are consider a prophet and I think that’s pretty cool.

Is it just me or is the fact that God is the Creator plastered all over the Bible? Even here in Revelation that describes the end of time , we are reminded that at the begining of time, God already existed and made everything. I appears God wanted to make that very clear to us.

Ahhhh! What is the answer to the mystery??? I can’t wait for the second coming to find out! But now we need to living each day looking forward to the end and living each day as if it could be our last. Maranatha

This chapter is really short!! I feel like there’s more for me to read and I want to keep reading! But I love this verse…the mystery of God will be fulfilled!! Just the same as he announced to his servants the prophets! Ahh! I cannot wait for these days to begin. When the prophesy of God will be fulfilled. :) Revelation is an awesome book, it’s either completely EXCITING, or completely TERRIFYING. I’m so glad that the words of God get to be fulfilled some day. :)

This is so crazy. Here on earth we cant imagine somthing like that, it just wouldnt seem real. Most non Christians dont want to repent because they have no physicall proof of God. If they saw this they would be in complete awe. Even reading it makes you be in awe, like emily said. God is so amazing and so is His creation!

Wow. Just the description of the angle puts me in complete awe. Just seeing an angle would be breath taking, but seeing an angle wrapped in a cloud with a rainbow over his head, with the face like the sun and legs like pillars of fire, is just crazy! I always wonder what the people here on earth will think when they see this. Will they not be in so much shock to not believe in God? If I was a non-christian, and saw all this happen I would repent on the spot!!! I hope many will repent now and if not to late, then. :)

Verses 5 & 6 stood out to me because they talk about two of God’s attributes:He’s the creator and He is eternal. As creator God made everything so that means He gets to make the rules for how we are to live. God’s rule is that we must all be perfectly holy, just as He is. Since we are not, our sin separates us from God and we are headed for the wrath that Revelation is talking about. But, God, who is rich in love and mercy, sent Jesus to live and die as our substitute so that we can be right with Him if we turn from our sin and trust in Christ. God’s eternality means that God has always been and that He has no beginning or end. God’s eternity and our mortality join together to persuade us that faith in Christ is not optional. If we do not get right with God during our time on earth, it will lead to eternal tragedy for us, who will spend eternity separated from God in hell. Even in this chapter in Revelation the importance of the gospel rang out to me. I am committed to praising God for who is His, the eternal creator, and sharing the gospel with people who need to know God and get right with Him!

This book is amazing! All the description and prophecy that it is proclaiming and how detailed it all is. There is so much power talked about in here and these power figures are the lesser beings in Heaven. It hasn’t talked about God or Jesus whom are the most powerful period!
This readings are great because they keep you on the edge of your seat and I always want to know what will happen next. Love you all.

I really like what you were saying with this verse Stacy! In my own life, I need to be living with no delay. One thing I have been trying to work a lot on recently is procrastination. One huge area would be my homework. Many times when I procrastinate, I end up still getting the work done, whether it be in tutorial or on the walk to class. However, it’s one thing to get my homework done, but it’s a whole new thing to do it to the best of my ability. In everything that I do, I am an ambassador for Christ, representing him with my life here on earth. When my teachers are grading my work, they won’t see 100% effort. They will recognize that I am not giving my full effort on that assignment. And so I want to do my best in every class for the glory of God! When they grade my work, they will be happy to see the time and effort that I put in. And if they go so far as to compliment me, the praise is not mine but God’s alone! I need to live my life with no delay: not putting of work or homework, not putting off the time to confront people on their sin, and not putting of the opportunities that I have to share the gospel with others! I need to seize the open doors when I see them, kindly sit down with my friends to talk as I would hope they would do the same with me when I am in sin, and get started on my work earlier so that I can but in my best effort!

One of my study Bibles mentions that the little scroll is bitter because of God’s judgment. As God is pouring out His wrath on the nations, especially with the bowl judgments coming up in chapter 16, John will become nauseous, hence the bitter stomach. But the little scroll will also taste sweet. Some see this meaning that though God’s judgment is harsh, it is sweet because the Lord’s victory will be soon. God is punishing evil and sin, and we are one step closer to the New Jerusalem! This verse has encouraged me because I know that God’s victory is going to be sweet! It is going to be the end of sin, where He casts Satan into the lake of fire! Satan will be vanquished! I am so excited for this, and I need to be evangelizing so that people will repent and place their faith in Christ, and then they will be able to taste the sweetness of God’s victory!

THIS should be my response ALWAYS. NO DELAY. No procrastinating, no ignoring, no pacifying, no evading. Just straight up immediate obedience. His Word is RAMPANT with commands I am to immediately obey, with a heart of gratitude and joy.

Repent? In Your time and with Your unveiling of my sins, Lord!
Sin no more and live in belief? By Your grace and mercy, Lord!
Pray? Couldn’t survive or function well without our communion, Father!
Submit? By Your strength, Holy Spirit!
Study Scripture and learn His commands, pleasures, and will? Father, grant me wisdom and discipline!
Love God and others? Because You first loved me and taught me HOW, Lord Jesus!

So many things we are called to live out as Christians. All of which are possible, but ONLY by Him. Lord, I avail myself to You, because You have shown me love and mercy, and You have taken me out of darkness and into Your light. Use me as it pleases YOU. Not MY will be done, but YOURS.

it’s almost like he ate up God’s Word and then was told to go and tell everyone about the Gospel…that’s how I want to be. Before I go out to tell others, I have to know the Gospel and God’s Word so that I am prepared in the spiritual battle! If they ask me a question and I don’t know the answer, I gotta look it up so I can help them out. Memorizing God’s Word is the best way to do it. That is what I shall take time doing today. :D …as well as devotions! You can’t eat up God’s Word unless you take the time to get to knooow God and understand Him. The Practice of Godliness is a great book that has been helping me out! I don’t cry out for spiritual milk, but for whole foods that will help me grow in my faith with the Lord. MARANATHA! :)
