The Tabernacle
26:1 “Moreover, you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns; you shall make them with cherubim skillfully worked into them. 2 The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall be the same size. 3 Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another. 4 And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set. Likewise you shall make loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set. 5 Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite one another. 6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to the other with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be a single whole.
7 “You shall also make curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make. 8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains shall be the same size. 9 You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and the sixth curtain you shall double over at the front of the tent. 10 You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.
11 “You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together that it may be a single whole. 12 And the part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13 And the extra that remains in the length of the curtains, the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it. 14 And you shall make for the tent a covering of tanned rams’ skins and a covering of goatskins on top.
15 “You shall make upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood. 16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each frame. 17 There shall be two tenons in each frame, for fitting together. So shall you do for all the frames of the tabernacle. 18 You shall make the frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side; 19 and forty bases of silver you shall make under the twenty frames, two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons; 20 and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side twenty frames, 21 and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one frame, and two bases under the next frame. 22 And for the rear of the tabernacle westward you shall make six frames. 23 And you shall make two frames for corners of the tabernacle in the rear; 24 they shall be separate beneath, but joined at the top, at the first ring. Thus shall it be with both of them; they shall form the two corners. 25 And there shall be eight frames, with their bases of silver, sixteen bases; two bases under one frame, and two bases under another frame.
26 “You shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the frames of the one side of the tabernacle, 27 and five bars for the frames of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the side of the tabernacle at the rear westward. 28 The middle bar, halfway up the frames, shall run from end to end. 29 You shall overlay the frames with gold and shall make their rings of gold for holders for the bars, and you shall overlay the bars with gold. 30 Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan for it that you were shown on the mountain.
31 “And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. It shall be made with cherubim skillfully worked into it. 32 And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, on four bases of silver. 33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy. 34 You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place. 35 And you shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle opposite the table, and you shall put the table on the north side.
36 “You shall make a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework. 37 And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold. Their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five bases of bronze for them. (ESV)

Today we continue with our description of the Tabernacle which was the place of Israelite worship, where they met with God.
30 “Set up the tabernacle according to the plan shown you on the mountain.
God is giving his people a very specific plan and expects them to follow it for the building of the Tabernacle…
TODAYS CHALLENGE: GIVE A SPECIFIC COMMAND THAT GOD EXPECTS YOU TO FOLLOW TODAY!
If God was this specific with the Israelites about the tabernacle and expected them to follow it down to the smallest detail…let’s make sure we are doing what he has specifically commanded us!

V. 30 gives Moses the command to do exactly as God instructed. In the same way, we are to do exactly as He commands. So here’s one command, among many, that God wants us to follow exactly today:
Col 3:23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men…
Who’s our Boss? What does He expect? Excellence in everything we do. That means homework, chores, loving others before ourselves, everything. Lord, help us to be faithful, as You are, to Your commands today.
Colossians 4:6 – Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
The reason we have not been taken up into heaven already is that there are still people here on this earth who need to be saved. As Christians, we should be making evangelism a major priority, but too often we allow ourselves to become comfortable with not talking to people. One of the reasons for this could be that we are not used to talking about God with others – and this should not be the case. This verse is a command to evaluate the words that we say and the conversations that we have, making them less “godless chatter” (2 Timothy 2:16) and making our conversations more about Christ, His Word, and what he has done for us. If we will do this, evangelism will become easier as well, because we will be spending much more time thinking and talking about Christ so we will be more ready to tell others about their need for Him!
Matthew 28:19-20 – Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Great Commission passage – and the reason why we, as Christians, are still here! As Mike said, we should make evangelism a major priority. I would be so encouraged to see more of you coming to evangelism night every Saturday after True North. It’s the perfect opportunity to get out there and spread the good news, and we’re doing what Christ has commanded of us!

John 13:34 -”A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Jesus loved everyone. He loves everyone. Even those who hated Him, and even those who killed Him! We need to show this same love not only to those who are our friends, but also to our enimies. If God can love them, so can we. They may not like us, but God calls us to love them anyways.
2 Thessalonians 3:6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.
I feel that all commands from the Lord are all just as important, however, some stick out to some who feel that these ones are more important and interesting. The Lord commanded us to stay away from any brother who is immune or does not follow the teachings that we received from the Lord our God.
Philippians 2:3-5 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own onterests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.”
I memorized these verses recently when I was struggling with the sin of selfishness. This passage makes it very clear that Chrisitans are to live selfless lives that consider Christ first and others second. What WE want to do is an afterthought if we are seeking daily to serve God and others. I am inspired in this verse because it tells me that my attitude must be the same as that of Christ’s. Christ humbly obeyed His Father in all instances and even deferred His desires to God’s. It is my prayer that I am living a life like this and being obedient to God’s command to live a humble and selfless life.

Shoot that is a lot of work. I’m just going to say the same thing that I said last time, these people had extreme faith in GOD and it showed in how they did things for him. We should have that kind of faith and respect.
This chapter again really shows how important the detail was to God! It was great to read about how the tabernacle was made and every detail of it. It would have been an amazing sight to have seen back then!

Challenge- When I opened my bible this morning, I opened to colossians 4:6. So now im memorizing it :) here it is.”Let your conversation be always full of grace seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” I like this command, it will help me think before I speak and if I were to talk to someone, it encourages me to use the word of God in what I speak.
I love the description of the ark of the covenant and the tabernacle because we on this side of the cross no longer go through that process to make atonement for our sins. God gave Christ as the “mercy seat” or as Pastor MIke described it the “bloody box top” to the ark of the covenant:
Romans 3:34-36 “and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
And when Christ died and rose again the veil was torn in the tabernacle. We now had direct access to the Father in heaven!!!
My challenge for you is this: 1 Cor 10:31 “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” GLORIFY HIM IN ALL YOU DO TODAY
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Growing up, every day when my dad dropped me off at school he would tell me to let my light shine. This encompasses every part of your life. I need to let my light shine by the words I choose to say, the things I choose to do, and the attitudes I choose to have. Because I say I am a Christian everything I do either puts Christ in a good light or a bad light. My motivation for acting like a Christian should be that it will bring glory to God!
Philippians 2:14 “Do everything without complaining or arguing”
This command is so simple and clear! We should not be expressing any dissatisfaction with anything God is doing or has given us or not given us. My life would look refreshingly different if I did everything without arguing or complaining– that is what I will be meditating on today!
Philippians 2:12
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
This is the attitude that we need! Part of the Christian life is constantly pursuing sanctification, with a fear of offending our Holy God in all that we do. We need to be obedient to the Lord and not forget how powerful and sovereign he is!
Look at all these verses in Proverbs talking about the fear of the Lord:
*The “fear of the Lord” is the beginning of knowledge Pr 1:7
*The “fear of the Lord” will cause one to hate evil Pr 8:13
*The “fear of the Lord” will prolong life Pr 10:27
*The “fear of the Lord” provides strong confidence and is a fountain of life Pr 14:26-27
*The “fear of the Lord” prompts one to depart from evil Pr 16:6
*The “fear of the Lord” leads to a satisfying life, and spares one from much evil Pr 19:23
*The “fear of the Lord” is the way to riches, honor, and life! Pr 22:4
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (NASB)
Do we have this kind of attitude; to rejoice always, without regard to our outward circumstances? Are we praying persistently; asking for God’s guidance, provision, protection, forgiveness and opportunities to evangelize? Are we giving thanks in every situation, trusting in God’s sovereignty, knowing that He is in control? We should be willing to bless the name of God in spite of our daily struggles, because He is always worthy of our praise!
1 John 3:23 – “And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.”
This summarizes the Christian life. Our goal is to trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
We trust him as our Savior as the sole basis for our right standing before the Holy Father. We trust in his resume and not our own for our ticket to heaven admitting that our efforts at meeting his Holy standard falls miles short of meeting the mark. We trust that God’s wrath against our sins has been completely compensated for in his death on the cross. The blood of Christ has covered our sins so that God no longer sees them.
2 Corinthians 5:21 – “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
We trust him as our Lord as we make him the boss or leader of our life. He is now the one in charge, not us. He is our top priority and we look to him for guidance as we obey the Holy Spirit and do what He says. We make his commandments our rules to live by (we no longer make up our own) and make every effort to follow them because we love Him and trust that they will lead to blessing.
This is what being a Christian is all about!
Acts 1:6-8 “Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall recieve power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
– “You shall be My witnesses to Me… to the end of the earth”!
As soon as we become Christians and surrender our lives to Christ, we need to immediatly tell others about our salvation! And that He is the only way to Heaven! This isn’t something that we “should” do, it’s something that God COMMANDS we do. Let’s make sure we are ready and prepared to be witnesses for Christ today, and the rest of the days of our lives!

This chapter is very neat to look at. How there were so many little details and instructions that went into the tabernacle. It just goes to show how Holy God is and different than us, and to remind us we could not have access Him if it weren’t for Jesus. So powerful, if you think about that concept.

Yes, there are times when i read the bible and totally forget about what i read later on in the day… ES MUY MALO!! haha as my sister would say! I loved this verse and i remembered it from Ben Blakey’s sermon on Saturday! It is a command to obey his commands!! AWESOMENESS!! :D
Colossians 3:20 “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleases the Lord.”
Even we as Christians sometimes have trouble obeying all our parents commands. Instead we argue and complain. We need to obey our parents even if it is not something that we really want to do because the Lord commanded us to obey our parents in EVERYTHING!

Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:18-20 to go out and make disciples. lets make God’s name known on our campuses!
i love how the tabernacle is so luxurious and so wonderfully designed. this just goes to show how great and awesome our God is. He desires the best of what we have, and we need to give it to Him. we should also focus on living our lives for Christ as carefully as the Tabernacle was made!
Mark 16:15 “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
This is one of so many verses in the bible telling us to get out and preach the good news! So many of us, including myself, hold back or shy away from some of the opportunities that God puts into our lives. Even though a lot of us know we are suppose to be doing this, it is still a challenge to apply it to our everyday lives. But if we all keep praying for the challenge God says he will be there with us through it all. Who knows, you could save someones life forever!
Acts 17:30-31 “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.”
This is probably one of the most basic commands that God gives us, yet it seems that most people (obviously non-christians) don’t follow it and could care less.
I know this isn’t a command that God expects us to do but, it’s actually a Psalm of David I read recently and I thought it would go good with this.
Psalm 19:7-9 : “7 The law of the LORD is perfect,reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.”
John 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
The Bible gives examples of people who worship God in vain. Here is a command that we need to worship God according to spirit and truth. Worship is not just playing an instrument or singing, but it is something we do in our spirit and according to the truth we read in the Bible.
Luke 6:27-31 “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
James 4:13-17: “Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’ 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.”
I love this passage! We need to live for the Lord and do His will. We can’t make our own plans apart from Him. Don’t buy into the lies that we can do things on our own, or that God doesn’t care about the “small” decisions we make – He does! Boast in His power and realize that we are nothing apart from Him. We need to do what He has commanded us to do and surrender our lives to Him. Anything short of than that is sin.

If you claim to be a Christian, you got to represent Jesus’s name in a positive way: by striving to live the life that Jesus lived. Jesus’s life was perfect, and we should strive to live a perfect life.
Wow God commanded them to build the tabernacle very specifically down to the last inch. Interesting: I found out that a cubit is 18 inches!
Challenge:
Romans 13:1-2
1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
We are commanded to submit ourselves to authority, and that means the government, for Gid established them there!!
Also:
Ephesians 4:32
32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
We are commanded to forgive others just as we have been forgiven by God through Christ!! We don’t deserve the forgiveness of God, yet He forgives us through Christ’s sacrifice, so we should be able to forgive others and their small offenses against us.
I think that it would be amazing to see this thing!!
James 1:22 – Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourself, do what it says.

this is a tough one isnt it? like christa said, it is sooo simple when you think about it, but the trouble is we dont apply it to our lives as much as we should.
Just think…a day without complaining would be a day where we would focus on others rather than ourselves.We would be content with our blessings from the LORD. we wouldnt focus on ourselves and the word ‘I’ wouldnt flow from our mouths.its really intense when we think about all of the complaints that flow from our mouths like “its sooo cold” or “UGH I HATE THIS CLASS!!” or “this is sooo boring”…instead we should be praising God and thanking Him for being so merciful and forgiving and for blessing us with more than we even deserve!

being humble.now that is def. a command from God!!!it ties into not complaining.if we become more and more humble daily, we would focus on others needs and we will be less focus on our wants and we will be content with what we are blessed with…so see?its like a circle.

a challenge we should endure, and reallly do it, would be to not complain once tomorrow…it may be tough, but just think of how great it would be to focus on God and others rather than ourselves.

Acts 5:29 “We must obey God rather tham men!”
This verse is really good for peer pressure. If a friend or anyone wants you do something that’s not good in God’s sight, obey God not what your friends or someone else wants you to do. Are they really true friends if they don’t want you obeying God? Also I think this verse is good to remember if you’re feeling timid speaking up for God, to think who you’re going to obey by speaking up or not.
James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
What a great reason to have an accountability partners! Prayer really, really is powerful and effective I love the quote Pastor Bobby gave us at Revival: Winter by MC Hammer “You need to pray just to make it today”
Ephesians 6:5 “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.”
Being a Christian isn’t only obeying Christ, but our earthly authorities too that God has given us to keep us in line here on earth.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”
Just we need to watch our actions and words, we also need to guard our thoughts. I think it is easiest to fall into sin in you own thoughts because no one can see them but yourself. I love how this verse tells us active things to think about instead of sinful things. This is also a great checklist to compare music, books, t.v., and movies to when making sure that something is worth spending time on.
God commanded how the temple was to be. He layed everything out clear and exact.
33 Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
The Holy Place from the Most Holy Place is where the presence of God was.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

Loving those who do not love us first is a difficult thing that we must do because Christ did it for us. By loving others, our evangelism is stronger and we will ‘shine like stars.’
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
As we come in contact with other Christians encouragement should always be on our minds. Let us Never give up meeting together for it pleases the Lord. Another thing we must keep in mind is spuring others on towards good deeds. Meeting at church is awesome. I hope I will see all of you at church tomorrow so that we can spur/encourage each other to be obey the commands of the Lord as we see the Day. :-)
These are a lot of specific instructions on how to build the tabernacle. he does not just say do what you think is best, or do whatever you want, no, he instead gives exact measurements. If you think about it. This is actually a parallel for our lives. He gives us specific commands to follow instead of just letting us find our own way. He gives us guidelines.
John 14: 15 If you love me, you will obey what I command.
I like this because yes God does give us grace and mercy and we don’t get to heaven by good works. But since we died to sin spiritually and if we really do repent and choose to follow and love Jesus, we will keep and honor His commandments.
Titus 3:1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.
I really need to apply this verse in my life and be obedient to Christ as well as authorities and always be ready to do whatever is good. Sometimes, I’m don’t prepare myself for spiritual battle and I get caught up in other things instead of trying to ready myself.

We gots to pray!! if you havent been doing much or at all, start doing it! we gotta challenge ourselves. i remember at smallgroups last week, ryan was saying how hard it was one time to pray for so long, but he did it. getting a headache by praying so long is better than not praying at all. what good is a relationship if there is no communication!
I would like to use the same verse as Old man new heart- Col. 3:23
this verse is so great because it reminds us that in everything we do we should do it to the best of our ability because it is for God. By obeying authorities in our lives and working hard we serve God; Paul also says that we will recieve an inheritance from God acording to the work we do! What more motivation do we need?!
1 Peter 1:16
because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”
ok so there is no way we ourselves can make ourselves holy but only God can do that but we are called to live a life that is set apart, to walk in purity as the Lord does. I pray he would do a work in my life as well as all my christian brothers that we may all live lives that are holy and pleasing to him!

Philippians 2:3 (New International Version)
3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
This verse is so straightforward, it plainly tells us to do NOTHING out of selfish ambition. It’s so easy to only be concerned with ourselves and put ourselves first all of the time. But really, God should be number one and we should be living out his will, not our own (Psalms 16:8). I think this verse is such a great reminder of that.
I was going to say Colossians 3:16 as well as Gabe did. It is not always easy obeying our parents. It is really sad to see teenagers disobeying their parents all the time. Even though we all may slip and not do what we are told all the time, we need to please God, and obeying our parents is definitely the right attitide to have! We are under them afterall!
1 “Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim worked into them by a skilled craftsman.
Right when I started reading this chapter, I noticed the end of verse 1 where God is very specific that the right person is doing the right job. Notice that he doesn’t say that the cherubim get worked in by anyone available. He wants a skilled craftsman doing it. This has to be done right.
God expects each one of us to be a “skilled craftsman” when it comes into evangelizing. Being a Christian isn’t just faith, it’s understanding the God that we profess that faith in. We need to be skilled in doing this.
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
Do not worry! This command is so clear and straight forward yet so hard for us to obey. Our sinful nature wants to control each detail of our lives and we worry about the things that we can’t control. Philippians 4:6 reminds us that we should’t worry about ANYTHING, but always look to God in prayer and present our requests to Him! As we have seen over and over in Genesis, God is in control of all things. We need to present our petitions to the Lord and rest that he has the authority to do all things!
Luke 3:30-31 “Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would hand then do to you.”
This passage, through verse 36, goes on to say that loving someone who loves you is easy. It takes true strength to love those who hate you. Also it is easy to give when you know that there will be some sort of gratification for you, we need to expect nothing, and want for nothing. We need to be completely selfless. we need to die to ourselves and be alive in Christ.

Phillippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
I need to think about this verse all the time because I get anxious feelings about all sorts of things time and start getting really stressed about how much I feel like I have to do. Without God though and prayer, I would not be able to find peace and I focus on growing closer to the Lord rather than worrying about earthly things I have to do. God is so good for being there always and I need to continue to do my best to bring Him glory!

I like this verse too ( i know Jordan picked it). Sometimes it’s hard to give things up, especially when people ask for them over and over again (aka begging for food and apaper at my school). I wont say any names, but my fellow Hawks will know who.
This whole passage is just amazing. Just like how God gave specific instructions on how to build the tabernacle, he also gave us specific instructions on how to live life. And just like how if the people made the building wrong they made it unholy, when we do wrong we make ourselves unholy. But unlike them we have Jesus to make us whole. We have a “Carpenter (Jesus)” to fix our “Temple (Our souls and body)”
Phillipians 2:14
For God commands us to not complain for He gives us everything why should we complain when He gives us things. We should go about life be thankful and gracious about everything and always look at the bright side. For I should follow this command when I do not want to do sprints at soccer or track I always say I don’t want to do it but it’s for the best. So from now on I am not going to complain and be thankful and excited for things to come

Phil 2:14 “Do everything without complaining or arguing”
This is easier said than done! I like to think of myself as a very upbeat and positive person, but when i really examine myslef I find that I need massive improvements in this area.
John 15:16-17 “You did not choose me but i chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the father in my name, he may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.
Im so glad God chose me and all my brothers and sisters in the body of christ, to be a witness to others. Sometimes its hard to love your neighbor but if He commands it then we just need to do it. Lets all be lights and shine for God. :)
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
For some reason these verses just popped into my head today so I decided to take some time and think about them. I guess I realized sometimes I tend to not trust God with some of the smaller things, things that aren’t permanent but are still part of my life. I just think- hey, I can deal with this, no worries God. In reality, God is in control of ALL of it, its up to him. The second part of the verse is also something that’s really important. A lottt of people take all the credit for their talents themselves… again, God is in control of ALL of it, and its up to Him.
Exodus 26
1 peter 3:15-16 15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
Here we are commanded by God to Evangelize and carry out the Great Commission. It is so awesome to see True North go out on Saturday evening and evangelize the OC. You guys are setting the bar for other youth groups who are not being treated like adults. God commands us in this verse to be prepared to give an answer for the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. Are we honestly ready and prepared to do this with excellence for our Lord? Our fear and reverence for our Lord should make us want to obey Him in this great commission.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Here we are commanded to love the Lord our God with everything we have. All of it not some of it, not part of it, not most of it. We need to get serious about loving God and obeying his commands. How often do we give God all of our time? How much time do you spend with God. He loves you and wants to spend time with you
if you are a Christian. Imagine having a friend you never spoke to. What kind of relationship would that be?
Ephesians 6:1-3, Exodus 20:12, Deuteronomy 5:16, Matthew 15:4
These are just a few of the many verses throughout the Bible that tell us to obey and honor our parents. It is so important that we do this because God takes it seriously! What an example and light in this world we could be to all the Non-Christians around us if we obeyed our parents. : )
Deuteronomy 11:13
So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul-and with all your mind.
In this verse, God is commanding us to follow Him and ONLY Him. He is telling us to love he unconditionally, to give up your soul to Him. He is telling us to willingly let Him rule over us. We all need to desire this. Not just do because that is what we are told to do. We should never do anything without putting all effort in it and to want to do it too.
