The Resurrection
28:1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” 8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
The Report of the Guard
11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
The Great Commission
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV)

MAKE DISCIPLES – This is the mission that Jesus has given us here on earth!
I pray that you will take up the challenge to tell someone this week about Jesus. Ask them, “What are you doing for Christmas?”
Also, let’s invite friends to the campus lunches and pray that they will be effective in seeing people not just come to the lunch but come to church and really receive the gift of Jesus!
May God use us at True North to save others! And may 2010 be the golden year of God’s getting the glory!
12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
As is the case with many “scientific” theories today, people will make up any story possible in order to have an alternative to believing the truth. And these alternatives are often much harder to believe, when it comes down to it, than the simple truth of the existence of God. But if God were to exist, then they would have to be subject to His rules. And the very essence of human nature rebells against this idea. Even “Christians” find it hard to believe in a just God who would send people to hell, and so they twist the truth into whatever various form to make Him more tolerant of sin. But the Bible is clear that the God who exists will not let sin go unpunished, and whether people like this truth or not it remains the truth. As a Christian, I need to be uncompromising in my high view of God, desiring to praise Him and glorify Him with my actions rather than cheat on Him by choosing to sin.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Our mission, and the only reason why we are here on earth is to make disciples of Christ! There are so many people who do not know what the gospel is and have no idea who Jesus is. It needs to start somewhere! These Non-Christians won’t hear it unless we tell them! This verse is a huge motivation to evangelize and share the good news that the Lord died for our sins and rose again!!!! God wants the glory, and he deserves it all! It is amazing to me that He loved me while I was a sinner and that he would humble himself as a baby and as a perfect and holy man for us! I need to be more thankful and to talk to people about Jesus and take on the challenge to ask others what they are doing for Christmas!
Mat 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Let’s not forget both parts of the great commission: 1) go make disciples and 2) teach them to obey what He commands! It’s not a works for salvation it’s salvation that inspires works! Let’s get to work!
ELLO… I read
I like verse 19,”Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
I like this verse because it tells us to go out and make disciples of every nation. So whenever someone asks ,”Why are you going out and bugging people who aren’t interested in hearing what you have to say.” I can say Matthew 28:19 tells me to go out and make disciples of every nation.
CYA
I’m ahead of you Bobby! BUT I shall continue to ask the question “what are you doing this Christmas?” so that I may continue to bring up Jesus Christ in my conversations. He has resurrected, disciples go tell the world!! Don’t believe the chief priests who were already corrupt in the first place. XD Jesus has never been corrupt and never will and His doctrine stands firm. God used His only son’s sacrifice to save me…I need to remember that! :)
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
This is exactly how I feel, when I slow down and consider Who Jesus is and what He did for us. Afraid yet filled with joy. This joyful fear outght to send me running to share the news of His resurrection with others, as it did Mary and Mary Magdalene.
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Dave H., good call on the TWO PARTS of His Great Commission. It is really a disservice, leading people to know Who Jesus is and letting them go from there. They WOULD have been better off knowing less about Jesus than learning about Him and returning to their sin, which is what we are prone to without proper instruction according to God’s Word and His Body (the church). I need to make sure I am in the Word learning Who Jesus is and what it means to be obedient and pleasing to Him, and I need to share this with people I am led to make disciples of.
When a toddler takes his first steps, a parent or caretaker doesn’t just leave him be and say, “Sweet, he’s walkin’! My job is done here!” The parent must be even more vigilant and diligent to watch over the stumbling toddler, who is even more accident-prone having graduated to taking steps on feet, than he was BEFORE he could walk, and was down on his hands and knees.
A very powerful aspect of the Great Commission it would be treacherous to be oblivious to or not be mindful of…I pray that I would step it up, be consistently in the Word every day so that I am not a blind person leading more blind people, and I pray that I would be so bold as to not only share the Gospel, but LIVE it, and TEACH it.
Heloooo . . .
Matthew 28 . . .
“3. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.”
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I love this verse because it’s one of the MANY verses that describe how my Father will look on the day He comes. Theres tons of verses in Revelation that also discribe how He’ll come with His angles, and their trumpets will sound at the coming of our King. He’ll be clothed in linen WHITE AS SNOW with blazing eyes of fire. He’ll come in the night, when least expected, almost as a thief would. He’ll come, and when He does, ALL WILL SEE HIS GLORIOUSNESS (if that’s even a word) THAT’S AS BRIGHT AS LIGHTNING! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
“19. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
“20. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
REASON OF OUR EXSISTENCE HERE ON EARTH: To share the Gospel and good news to EVERYBODY THAT WE LAY OUR EYES ON!
It’s a command from God that His children, with no fear, EVANGELIZE to all the people who havn’t heard the Gospel and don’t know what it is. There’s so MANY people out there who don’t realize every breath is a gift, and that they use the name of their Lord in vein. They could care less of the whole “Christianity deal” and prefer to live their lives the way they want. I remember being one of those people. Where I thought I was okay, & that I was going to Heaven ’cause I lived in a Christian home. But that’s not how it works. Through repentence, Faith, and understanding the Gospel, is how I got saved.
Speaking of which, GREAT SERMON YESTURDAY. It was really convicting and I understood the TRUE meaning of those three words. Thanks, Pastor Bobby. =)
Under His mercy,

~+~+~FATHER I CAN’T WAIT WHEN YOU COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND SAVE ME ~+~+~
Totally agree with Stacy.
I pray also that I wouldn’t just share the Gospel to people and continue to think I’m GOOD. But that I’d also LIVE IT AND BREATHE THE GOSPEL.
Under His mercy,
Ariana Mishreki =)
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is happening right before Jesus ascends up into the clouds on His way back to heaven, probably one of the last things He says. He leaves with this command, a very important command. All Christians are supposed to go out into the world and make disciples of people from everywhere across the globe, and then baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And after a person gets saved, Christians are to continue in in teaching them all the commands of Jesus. And lastly, Jesus gives a promise that He will be with His people always, until the end of time when He comes back again. I need to obey this command of Jesus with boldness and courage. I need to be loud and vocal as I tell others about the truth of Jesus Christ. Like Pastor Bobby was saying in the message this weekend, I need to ask people what they’re doing for Christmas, and when they ask me in return, I can nail them by talking about how I will be celebrating the birth of Jesus and they can to! I need to help instruct other young Christians, but also, I need to seek instruction and guidance from those older and more mature.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is what God called us to do, make disciples! We just need to do it. I need to make sure that im not more afraid of what other people will think of me than what God thinks of me, because his opinion is the only one that matters.
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Our God is a powerful God and yet people think that they dont have to obey him and they can make it on their own. Like Bobby said this weekend many people reject the gift of Jesus Christ as their savior I need to cherish it and constantly be growing closer to Christ every day!
i like these veres because when the Lord said, i will be with you to the very end of the age. that quote for some reason just really sets a peace in my heart. it makes me feel like there is someone with me at all times and i do not need to worry or be afraid.
God has called us to make disciples amoung men. i dont want to be afraid to go through with his commands. I need to go and make more disciples, and not care what anyone else thinks. the only thing that matters is what God thinks.
This is an awesome start to the morning! Remembering the two main items of the Gospel (good news): Jesus died & then rose from the dead (1Cor 15:1-4).
Through the the sacrifice of Christ on the cross I no longer need to be punished for my sins. And through the ressurrection of Jesus from the dead I can have a living hope that though I die I may live, that I may be forever in the glorious presence of God in the new Jerusalem!
Maranatha!! (Come O’ Lord)!!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Dave Hosford, the same thing stood out to me about verses 19 & 20. Jesus’ command, the last thing He says to His disciples before He ascends to heaven, has two main components. 1) Make disciples, 2) Teach them to obey everything that Christ has commanded. Yes, sharing the gospel and evangelizing is crucial to obeying The Great Commission, but what about discipling other Christians and encouraging them to grow in their sanctification? That is the point of Christ’s second command in verse 20. It is not just enough to evangelize, we must be sure that we are discipling other Believer. As a leader in True North I am grateful for the opportunity to pour into you high school students and encourage you to grow in your obedience to Christ. Who are you discipling? True North has Teen Ministers, this is an amazing way for you to pour into your peers. Compass also has an amazing Kids’ Ministry that is always needing Christians to teach and disciple the children at our church. I love walking through the halls of our church on Wednesday mornings during WBS or on the weekends and seeing True Northers living out the Great Commission. God is honored by your obedience to His commands! I challenge you with this question today: Who are you discipling?
12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
These passages stood out to me because no matter how much the chief priests denied that Jesus was Lord, they knew the truth. They knew when the angels of the Lord came down and roled away the stone and the guards saw it. They knew when Jesus rose from the dead and people saw Him. They knew, but they wanted no one else to believe so the priests bribed the guards to say that the disciples stole His body away in the night. They went to such ends to cover up the fact that Jesus was real, and that He had risen from the dead.
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
Yes! I love the attitude of these women. They hear a very strange and impossible message from a glowing angel (something you don’t see everyday), and hurry to go follow the command. Not only do they immediately follow the command, but they do it with fear AND joy! That’s an attitude I want to have in Christ. I want to fear Him because of his awesome power and glory, but I also want to be filled with joy because of the grace He has given me. I need to remember to be both fearful and joyful in my savior!!
12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
14If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”
15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
WOW! They saw the truth and saw that Jesus was not lying but did rise, yet they still didn’t believe. They covered it up with lies and money, which will soon be ashes. It is soo sad to see how many are satisfied with money and possesions when they are nothing. Jesus is EVERYTHING but is forgotten or put to the side. Praise Christ for He died for our sins, so we may live with Him and have eternal life! :D
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Go make disciples of all nations. That means EVEANGELIZE and get His name out! I recommend going on Saturday nights with True North(just not in December)k, it is soo aweseome. It is a little scary the first time but wants you get Christ’s name out there it is soo much fun. Get His name out there to the ends of the earth!!! :D
***PRAISE GOD FOR HE IS GOOD AND HIS GLORY SHINES FOREVER!!!***
6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
The reason we have a hope today. HE HAS RISEN! Be Rising Jesus defeated death and conqured sin. With out the resurrection of Christ our religion would be worthless, but because he rose from the dead we are saved. Praise the LORD in heaven for sending Jesus who was God, humbled himself as a little baby to be born into a regular family to live the perfect life as a toddler, a child, a teenager, and an adult with all the same emotions and experiences we go through in this life that he would be nailed to cross unjustly and his blood would be poured out over every sin we have committed or every will commit that he would die a gruesome and painful death, and that 3 days later as the prophets had proclaimed he would rise from the dead conquering death and sin would ascend into heaven and be placed at the right hand of God mediating on behalf of all the saints and that one day he will return to call all those who have been chosen by God as a gift to him to live with him for eternity where we will see him face to face and glorify him forever! MARANATHA!
15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The rumor that the disciples hid Jesus’ body is still circulated even to THIS day! But we know the truth…He is risen! This is such a great chapter of the Bible. It makes me excited for Christmas because Christ’s birth eventually led to Christ being raised from the dead! He conquered death and by God’s grace we can be saved. I’m so thankful for all of the eye witnesses and for this record of the Lord being alive again and visiting disciples. This Christmas I want to remember what a miracle it was for Jesus to come down in human form…for Him to live the perfect life…die taking God’s wrath meant for us…and then defeat death!
This ovioulsy was not a JESUS look-a-like as the Muslims say he was. Not only did he forfill the professly, but he preformed miricles and announced his reign over heaven and earth. Also Jesus tells us that we need to share this great news with everyone on this earth. THis means that everyone may know the truth. Your neighbor might know who JEsus is, but do they know and understand to gospel? That is the real question.
I would also like to say how great of a job the church choir did this weekend, and how many good things I have heard from people that do not go to compass regulary say about it.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I’m praying that True Northers are making disciples on their campuses, and that God would raise up some of our high schoolers to be sent out to “all nations.”

19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Best verses ever!! A command that all christians need to follow. And once we do that, who knows how many people will begin believing.
So many great posts today!!!!!!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
These are two verses I favor the most in the book of Matthew!!!! Everyday I should be waking up wanting to share the Gospel with others. Sometimes it can be hard becuase I am lazy. But that is when I need to remember who I am living for. I love that he says I am always with you until the end of the age. That makes me feel so confident because I know he is with me.
MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
I love these verses because they show us just a GLIMPSE of God’s glory! Even His angels scared the huge guards that stood at the tomb! I want to praise Him today for His unfathomable splendor!
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
BAM! Now that is an awesome thing to read! “he has risen JUST AS HE SAID” Jesus said he would rise, and he did. Now we all know that Jesus is coming back too. So if he kept his word that he was going to come back to life, he will also be right when he says that he is coming back! #1 Jesus would not lie, and #2 Jesus would not tell the truth on some things and lie about others, he will always tell the truth about everything. There is no gray area with him! By rising again like he said, I know that Jesus is coming back again too. I need to look at this as an encouragement, and I need to continue to be patient, and trust God that he does keep His promises.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
This isnt a command to just his disciples but to all christians and we need to constantly be evangelizing and we shouldnt be satisfied with evangelize to our schools but to all nations and all places on earth.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
These verses are so important as christians. We should be following this command tooth and nail. We need to be less afraid of what people might think of us and more afraid of how displeased God will be if we disobey Him. I need to be bolder in the preaching of His words and trust that He will keep me safe and give me the words to speak.
Jesus has control over everything in the world. It is amazing how he is always with us even when we don’t deserve him and shouldn’t be able to be near him. As long as we obay him and repent of our sins and live a life knowing and trying to get more followers for him, we will always have a place in heaven with him forever.
1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
Wow. I just want to marvel on this for a minute. JESUS had style. I love those movies where its all intense and you have some really cool, smart, and powerful dude who just is awe inspiring. JESUS is all that and more. I mean just look at this verse. He came like lightning, and with clothes as white as snow, and the guards have seizures or something and become like dead men. That is just intense. Just imagine that with some sort of intense lighting and awesome music. So cool.
15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
It’s ironic how both Judas and the disciples took money to do something against Jesus. Judas accepted the money to hand Jesus over to the authority and soldiers accepted money to make a lie saying that the disciples took away Jesus’ body.
20b And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
at the end of this awesome chapter, we have some very encouraging words by our Lord! as many have mentioned, the great commission is the reason why we are here on the earth! we are to make disciples, evangelizing and teaching others about God and the gospel. this verse in particular stuck out to me as i read this verse because it reminds us of how God is for us. we have God dwelling within us in His Spirit, and we know that God works out all things for our good if we love Him and are called according to His purpose. i pray that i would be living out the great commission daily, always being ready to share the gospel! i pray also that i would be confident in God and His power to save, and be trusting in Him, knowing that He is always with me!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is what we are here for, to go out and spred the gospel, and not to keep it to ourselves. But to go out an make disciples of God. There are so many people on Earth that do not know God, and that is why we are here so that we may go and tell the world about the Lord. <333
2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
This must have been an awesome sight, seeing the empty tomb and an angel of God. It’s awesome how even though there were still many people who didn’t believe in Jesus being their savior but he still lived that holy, perfect and sinless life that we could never have lived. I pray that I would constantly be praising God for Christ’s death. He is just so awesome for that where he could have just destroyed life and restarted back during Adam and Eve but God didn’t, instead He bridged the gap between us sinners and Him, the almighty, holy God and that is soooooo awesome!
How perfect Jesus was, is, and is to come! How sad for the Jews who believe the lie that was created in order to deflect any wrong doing of the government in regards to Jesus’ death–I’m so thankful that I know truth. This story is so amazing, how can you not share it with others? God, please give me the courage and strength to speak openly and accurately about our God and Savior.
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
first of all how exciting would it be to here the angel tell you the “he is not here; he has risen” that would make me go insane. but also i need to follow the two womens examples. after they heard this news they ran to tell the disciples. they didnt care if they would be thought of as crazy they were sooooo excited Jesus had rose from the dead. the same excitment should be with me right now. i need to run to tell people.
MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
Wow this is astonishing! Even someone who has lived with Jesus as His disciple for three years can still doubt His diety; even after He had just resurected! This makes me think about kids who are raised in a Christian home, go to churh, and even go to a Christian school yet do not believe that Jesus Christ is God and even rebel against Him. We can talk and share with them all we want but it is only because of God’s will, the power of the Holy Spirit, and His grace that people are saved…He just uses us as the messengers!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
As a Christian I need to help “make disciples of all nations” by sharing the gospel with others. I should evangelize more and am looking forward to evangelism night this sat.! :) verse 20 also reminds me that as actions speak louder than words, I should obey God’s commands to prove that I love him. As for the last part of the verse, I love being reminded that Jesus is always with me. He sees all, knows all, and understands all. I will never be alone because he is always there.
oh we’re done with Matthew. that seemed really fast. looking forward to the next book :)
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Especially since Christmas is coming up, it is such a great opportunity to evangelize and tell people the gospel and God’s love. It’s a non threatening question to just ask them what they’re doing for Christmas & most people will respond to it. I’m super excited for the campus lunches this week to go and make disciples! I want God to use me and everyone at TN to evangelize and glorify Him! That is so comforting to know that He is always with me.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Honestly, I’m not coping my sister! I copied these verses before I scrolled down and saw who else used them:) These are two of the most important verses in the passage, besides “HE IS RISEN!” As a Christian and disciple of Jesus, I need to obey this command and spread the gospel. Without His resurrection, I would be hopeless and lost. I do not want any of my friends to be lost forever because I never shared the greatest news ever with them. I need to evangelize more! Jesus is Lord<3!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I love how he just tells us what we should be doing MAKE DISCIPLES. This is some thing that I need to be doing all the time telling every one that I see about what Jesus did for us. lets do what Boby said in the sermon and ask people what they are doing for this Christmas and tell them the GOOD NEWS.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
like pastor bobby said, it only takes a few words to start a conversation, and it takes even just 1 to spread the Good News and tell people about Jesus. I need to stop being that newborn chick going out of its shell and evangelize w/a soft filling and a hard shell.
Merry CHRISTmas, not x-mas!
Jesus humbled himself down to human form, and took our punishment, died a painful death, and now raises from the dead. Jesus went through all of this for me. Now, how far am I going to go for him?
One way I can start is making disciples of all nations. I will constantly be representing Christ in my actions and words, as he commanded me to do so in Matthew 8:19.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
These are some of my favorite verses right here – The Great Commission! As Christians, disciples of Christ, we are given the charge to take up the cross and preach the good news to anyone and everyone. It’s really sad how many “Christians” ignore this verse and say that they don’t want to offend people, or infringe on their beliefs. I know that as I have Christ, I should want to share His glory with others, that they could be saved as well.
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
These women were told that Jesus was alive and to go tell the disciples, and instead of doubting or questioning, they hurried to tell the disciples, they truely had great faith
c u all soon
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
These verses are so important to the role all christians are commanded by Jesus to do. He simply says now go teach veryone evrything that I have taught you and we have the great priveledge of learning the bible very week at compass but other need to hear the news because we are commanded by God to share the word
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
As a Christian, this should be my main goal while living life here on earth, telling other people about Jesus Christ. Though it isn’t me that saves the person, I am only here to plant seeds and be a messenger for Christ and let God do the rest! I’m praying that God would use me this week to plant seeds for him at my school!
Hello,
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We as a Christian body really need to have boldness in making deciples of all nations, and go out into the world. I really hope we can set up the conversation of what we are doing for christmas as a gateway to talk about Christ.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
This is our command every day!!! We need to be spreading God’s word and doing what ever we can to bring more people to Christ 24/7!!!!
MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The great commission!! This what Christ has commanded us to do with our time on earth! Each day is a blessing meant given to us to spread the gospel–makes me think– am I using these oppertunities?? Because when I get to heaven I do NOT want my life to have been wasted!!
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
God teaches us to obey EVERYTHING he has commanded. This means we cannot pick and choose to do somethings and not do others… We have to be fully dedicated to Jesus Christ, following every commandment and teaching and encouraging others to do the same. God, the Holy Spirit, is always with us! Anything is possible
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We are to make disciples, something that Jesus gets to us clearly, but he also leaves us with this. It’s a reminder that we are not alone, Jesus is with us forever. No matter how bad the worlds treats us, they may kill us or torcher us, but we still have Jesus beside us and in us. Making disciples is much easier as one keep this in mind, something I’m going to start doing.
6 He is not here; he has risen, JUST AS HE SAID. Come and see the place where he lay.
“Just as He said.” For those of you who read the previous chapters of Matthew on S.O.T.D, im sure that you recall the story of when Jesus said that He would destroy “this temple” and raise it again. Jesus was not refering to the actuall temple He was in front of…..He was talking about His body. This is what the angel meant when he said, “He has risen, just as He said.” Jesus did say that He would raise again, AND HE DID!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
This verse says exactly the main purpose of my life as a Christian here on this earth. I need to be spreading the Word of God to everyone possible. This is definitely something I could work on. I do not take all my chances to spread the Word. Sometimes i just let the chance to spread the good news pass by. I need to take hold of every chance I get to evangelize. A good way to do this is like Bobby said this weekend which is by asking people what they are doing for Christmas. This opens up all kinds of doors.
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Great Commission! Are we teaching those who are younger in the faith or even non-believers to obey everything Christ commanded? Do we emulate the lesson of obedience in our own lives? I need to make sure my life is characterized by obedience to the Lord’s commands and I am showing the world the importance of obedience.
I love how in this chapter peeople are just bowing down and worshipping Him all the time and it just makes me think of how some day everysingle person is going to be worshiping Him on the day of judgement no matter what the circumstance is. I wish that i could of been alive to see Him, how amazing would it be to be a follower of Christ and too actually follow Him and listen to his teaching and to learn from Him directly. It just makes me soooooooooooh happy that this will happen someday and that i will be at his feet worshiping Him and being with Him forever and ever! MARANATHA!
This chapter gives me the goose bumps!
Jesus died, and three days later, rose again, forever redeeming us of our sin, JUST AS HE SAID HE WOULD!
and on top of that, he makes his resurrection known. He goes out and appears to his disciples among the other men, so that everyone would know his victory over death, and so that the word of Him would spread until the day he comes back.
MARANATHA! Come and get me!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
These 2 verses right here are HUGE for the Christian life! God is COMMANDING us to go and make disciples and produce fruit in our lives! He wants us to be continually EVANGELIZING every day!!!! God wants more and more people SAVED. God is using us to be salts of the earth and get the word spread through the nations!!! More and more people are IGNORING God and they need somebody else to tell them more about him and the love that he has for them and the plans that he has for them!! We need to be sharing with others the commandments that the Lord has given us and we need to OBEY them!!!!! God commands us Christians to get BAPTIZED!!!!!! Getting baptized isn’t what makes you a Christian, but it is something that God has commanded all Christians to do in obedience to Him!!!!! God sent his one and only Son in the form of a man starting as a baby!!! Jesus went through all his years as a young child, teenager, young adult, and old man and lived a perfect life!!! He died for our sins and humbled himself enough to take human life and live it perfectly. And all he wants in return is for us to repent of our sins and place our trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone!!! Along with that he wants us to obey his commandments and be slaves towards others!!!! If we don’t obey his commands then that will show a terrible example to other non believers and shows all the more reason why people call Christians HYPOCRITES!!!! Lets go out and do what Jesus commanded us to do and share that faith with other people!!!! MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully my computer gets fixed soon so i can be on here daily again…but as for now, its up to my friends iphones and computers to get on here:)
Wow, this is one of the most important chapters in the Bible! It declares the resurrection of Jesus! What i took notice to was when the angel appeared, the guards fell down in fear! That response to something so near to God is incredible. Just to think that I am going to be in heaven with my Creator one day, face to face! Falling down in fear doesnt even come close to how ill feel!!
I think that this chapter is such an important chapter to quote when evangelizing. Jesus’ resurrection is so important. Without it, sin would not have been defeated! But Christ defeated sin and arose from the dead, just like He said He would!!That is what is so distinct about our Lord and Savior- He is ALIVE IN US!He is dwelling inside of us. He is not dead like the other ‘gods’ of different religions are.
There are so many intricate facts and details, it would take our lifetime to dig deep into all of them and really get close to comprehending Jesus’ resurrection and the miricle of that! God is worthy of all of my praise. And i am going to make disciples in this unholy nation that we call our earthly home…and i am going to look forward to the day where i can be in perfection with our Creator God!
MARANATHA!!!!
9Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
What an awesome response of the two Marys!! They didnt ask any questions, they didnt doubt, they just fell down and worshipped Jesus fully knowing he is the Son of God. I need to be worshipping Jesus like the two Marys because I know that he has conquered death for me and for you!! THank you Jesus!!! <3
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
PRAISE GOD FOR JESUS RISING FROM THE DEAD!! If Jesus hadn’t risen from the dead, then we wouldnt have had any proof that he was the Messiah! One of the most important pieces of the gospel is that Jesus died for our sins and ROSE AGAIN! Let’s celebrate the birth of our LORD and Savior this Christmas. Spread the good news!!

THHS Campus Lunch #3, Bring it.
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Jesus has all authority and him giving a command is something that I want to do my best to follow. I am going to obey His command tomorrow by telling people in class about the true gift that God is offering everyone through the death of His son.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus says to evangelize to everyone in his name. I think the coolest part of verse 20 is when Jesus says that he is with us always, to the end of the age.
6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
This was one of the topics of the message I taught at campus lunch this past week. Jesus fufilled so many profesies during his life, this being one of them. We can be sure that the profecies still to come will come true too! I am so excited for Jesus to come back and rule as Lord of Lords!
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I am definitely going to take the Challenge for this week and ask someone what they are doing for Christmas. Somewhere in the Bible (idk where….) it says that Jesus isn’t going to come back until the whole word has heard the news! This task is delegated to us to spread the news. I need to step it up and be way more bold to my team especially.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
i like what everyone has said about theses verses. Making disciples is our job here on earth. I pray that I would fear the Lord more then man, and that my life would be a godly example.
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
Great Scripture!
This just revives me about how I really need to be on fire for Christ. Always! How we need to be afraid. Also so abundant in joy that we feel a longing to tell other people about Christ! I know that i need to do more for Christ than I am right now, that I need to be able to have the scriptures rolling off my tongue at a moments notice. That I need to be on fire for Christ anytime all the time!
Congrats fellow SOTD’rs!!!! Last chapter in Matthew!
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The last part of this verse always boosts my confidence in the future we have with the Lord. He will always be with us! How comforting is this? Knowing that unlike the other gods people believe in, our God is everlasting!!!!
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
Our Lord Jesus has been the sacrificial lamb and has been given all authority and sovereignty! This should frighten us and lead us to produce good fruit. Jesus also commands us to make disciples. I think I’m doing good evangelizing by my actions, but I need to work on being more vocal about it.
“Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?”-Hebrews 10:28-29
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is the mission statement for the church and every Christian. We need to always be working towards making disciples by evangelizing, teaching, and training. I want to make sure my life is always reflecting one of these three components and preferably all three!
your grace is enough!
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”—These verses motivate me so much because I need to be doing what it says! I need to be showing my joy for what God has done for me and running to others and tell them about the amazing Gospel! Just like Pastor Bobby was preaching, people need to have the Gospel and they need to know about it to know why Christians spend their life worshipping Christ and strive to be like him! So many people need to know about the good news and especially since it is Christmas time I should be telling people, with excitement, about Jesus’ birth AND is resurrection! This Christmas I am going to try to get the Gospel out there to other people who need it!
MARANATHA!!!!
so excited to celebrate JESUS CHRIST’S BIRTH!!
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Great Commission, gotta love it!
My calling as a Christian is not only to accept Christ into my heart and live a life for Him. This is great! But its not the end…I need to preach the good news to everyone possible! What kind of person am I if I receive this amazing grace and dont let others be a part of it? Thats just cruel. I need to “Go Tell it from the Mountain”. And I love the last part…”and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Wow! Jesus never leaves my side and will watch over me until I go to see Him, where I get to always be with Him. A spiritual win-win situation! Great way to end Matthew!
——————————————————————-
Hey guys, you should check out Daily Bible Reading (DBR)!! True North is taking it over!!
Just click on my name!
What a great chapter!! Jesus makes it very clear that we need to make disciples!!!!!!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Lord has commanded me to go and make disciples. That is my whole purpose for being here on this earth. I need to make sure that everything i do, every action and every word represents Christ. I need my life to represent Christ. I want people to be able to just look at me and see that i am living the the Lord Almighty!!! (: I need to make sure that i am always following this command and have it on the front of my mind always. Verse 20 is so encouraging, the Lord is here for us ALWAYS, that is a big and powerful word to me. This is a PROMISE to us, another powerful word to me. The Lord keeps his promises and never fails. I am so thankful that i am saved, and so thankful that i have the Lord with me always and to the ends of the age.
(:
MAKE DISCIPLES
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
MMMMMMM… one of my favorite verses in all of the bible. I love it! It’s so straight forward, there’s no way you can misinterpret this. We are called by God to evangelize and make disciples of all nations, its that simple, no catch. I pray that we all would obey the Lord’s commandments and be making an effort to evangelize to everyone we see and be unashamed of the gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16)!!!!!!
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Lets preach this to every person on our campusses this week!!! Lets pray that this message is heard through all of the lunches!!!! Lets take over all the High School campusses for Christ!!!!
3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
AMAZING chapter! Verse 3 just reminded me of how his clothes related to the action. As he was dressed white as snow, he also washed our sins white as snow! Verse 19-20 are so important and feel as if i am not trying my hardest to do so. I must make disciples of the the nations and i must pass on what the Lord has taught me and everything he has commanded me to do. It is such as assuring verse, that if we are children of GOd that our job is to make disciples and if we do, surely the Lord will ALWAYS be with us! That a pretty big promise and i want to take the risk and spread the great news. Like Bobby said, Christmas is a perfect time and an open opportunity to sharing the gospel.
Please pray that i just get through this crazy week!
19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is our job on earth, to make disciples of Jesus. This job is so important yet I take it lightly. I’m not always looking for conversations about Jesus. I cannot take it lightly, I need to realize that my silence could cost someone eternal death. Just because I’m afraid of sharing the Gospel means I could be leading them towards Hell. The time of Jesus’ return is coming very soon, and I need to prepare for that by making many disciples. I need to take this commandment more seriously.
!!!MARANATHA!!!
I read…
Verse 19 gives us our call as Christians in light of the resurrection… “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
Since Christ has paid the ultimate gift for us and rose again to defeat death, we should be willing to give our lives to God. He explains that we need to go to all nations and baptize people. This should spark us to be more vocal about my faith. I haven’t been as vocal as I should be about my faith. I need to share more of the gospel with others and have no shame about it.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
One word. EVANGELISM! I know that I for one need to crank up the evangelism. Sure, I do it when it is convenient, or go to the evangelism nights here and then. I need to seriously to commit to being all about God in everything that I do. It is so simple to just start up a conversation with anyone while I am at school. I need to do this! I am praying for all the campus lunches this week, and that God will give those who are speaking strength and the words to speak, and the rest of us courage and boldness to tell as many people as possible about it! I know that God can use us to to make a huge impact! The second verse here is so comforting. There are lots of times in my life where it seems like lots of things aren’t going the way I want them to. I just need to stop trying to take the reigns from God and let him control my life. He knows what he is doing! Even though sometimes it doesn’t always seem the best to me at the time, I can trust that my LORD has got my life in his hand. And when I do go through struggles and am persecuted for my faith, I can know and trust that he will be with me all the way through, no matter what! I am pumped up to really get a REVIVAL going in Orange County this week, and to get people thinking about the real meaning of Christmas as they go on vacation!
PRAISE THE LORD!!! MARANATHA!!!
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We need to make disciples and also teach them to obey the Lord’s commands. It seems today in the Christian world, a lot of emphasis is placed on getting someone to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And then once a person is “saved” they are then told they can never lose their salvation. ( which is true if they are truly saved) The point if there disciples are not obeying everything God has commanded them, then chances are they were never truly disciples in the first place. Faith without works is dead! We aren’t saved by works, but if we are saved it will produce works. We need to never forget that and we need to encourage our Christian brothers and sisters to live holy lives!!
I pray the Lord will bring many true disciples to True North who desire to obey him as their Lord and Savior.
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I like this verse because it is very reasuring that Jesus is always watching over us. I thank God for everything i have today and pray that he guides me along the right path in life.
12When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
13telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
When they heard that their worst fear had actually come true, they knew it was the truth but they rejected it! But they didn’t stop there. They tried to cover it up so other people wouldn’t know. I know that it is the truth that Jesus really did rise again….if at times I choose not to speak up about this to the people who need to hear the Gospel I’m being just as bad as the chief priests and elders.
When I’m evangelizing to people, most of them don’t believe in the truth of the Bible….how will I get anywhere with them if I don’t first show them that it is true? Sometimes I even find myself deliberately avoiding the topic of whether or not the Bible is true because the person who I am talking with will start to refute it, etc. But I can’t be lazy when sharing the Gospel! If I don’t first show them that truth, then the rest of the discussion would be in vain.
15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
If there was no resurrection…our faith is hopeless….but we can have hope because of many reasons but one is the fact that it is nearly impossible to believe that 10 of these disciples would die for the lie of the resurrection plus another one getting exiled for the lie….I know that I would not die for something that I knew was a lie….so this gives me confidence in my faith…..
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Without the resurrection, our faith is completely in vain. Like Paul said, if Christ did not rise, then we should be pitied above all men. I am so thankful for the resurrection. This Christmas season we should not only be celebrating Christ’s birth, but also His entire purpose of coming to earth as a man, to die and rise again to save our souls!
There is a reason that the Great Commission is commonly quoted. Our role as Christians is so clear and the imperative to “go and make disciples” leaves no room for debate. It’s not a suggestion that maybe we should go, we are commanded to go. I love how verse 20 closes for God does not send his people into the world by simply saying good luck…no. Jesus promises that He will be with us always and that He has all authority. What an awesome promise! May this give us boldness in sharing the gospel this Christmas season!
The Resurrection! How awesome it would have been to be one of those who saw the angel and Jesus right away. It would be so scary yet exciting at the same time.
But these verses stood out to me in this chapter. The last thing that Jesus physically tells His disciples to do is to “go and make disciples.” But there can’t be any disciples if people don’t get saved, and nobody will get saved unless the trust in the Gospel. Clearly Jesus is commanding us to share the good news. With who? “All nations.” While this seems a bit daunting to me personally, verses 18 and 20 comfort me. If Jesus, to whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given, is with me always, I really do not have anything to be worried or afraid about. Lord, please keep my eyes fixed on You and help me to make your goodness known.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
He has risen!!! I love verses 19 and 20. This is a command for us, to go and make disciples and to obey what Jesus has commanded us to do. We were created to bring him glory. We should WANT to share that with the world. Let’s invest in people and make sure we keep the body of Christ united and strong. Relationships are the ONLY things we can take with us to Heaven. And we don’t know when that day will be, so I want to make sure I am living each day as if it were my last one on earth, fully committed to serving God!
Matthew 28
6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Wow! I agree with you Jeremy every time I read this verse I am filled with overwhelming emotion. To hear those words he is not here he is risen fills my heart with pure joy. Christ being raised from the dead was the final proof to all including the Apostles that Jesus was God. Praise the Lord! This is what Christmas is all about!
Romans 10:9-10 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Pray for REVIVAL at the high school lunches this week!
Way to go Glenn! Glad to read the TNer posts!
9 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I love these verses because it is such a great reminder that we need to get baptized if we are true christians. And just as God says is is always with us till the day we die and go up into heaven! :)
Sorry for not posting this last night. I am really sick and was unable to get on.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This is one of my favorite versus because it is telling us that we need to be baptized and then go out and tell people about our faith.
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
This is what my response should be to the gospel message. Jesus conquered death for my sake, and now I should be hurrying with excitement and fear to tell others about that good news. Too often there are times when my primary goal is not to look to tell others about the exciting news of Christ’s death and resurrection, and that’s wrong. I pray that I’ll wake up each day not only focused on Christ but on how I can tell others about Him.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
We need for one to tell people about Christ, and ultamately two train them in the Holy Spirit. This verse is a great reminder of that.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
I take this as a command. I have a friend that I have known for years and he moved back here and lately I have been such an encouragment to him and I have pulled him back to Christ and it is the best feeling in the world to do that. I love sharing the Word and talking about Christ to people I know.
