My Help and My Deliverer
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is the man who makes
the Lord his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
to those who go astray after a lie!
5 You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
yet they are more than can be told.
6 In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
but you have given me an open ear.
Burnt offering and sin offering
you have not required.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
8 I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.”
9 I have told the glad news of deliverance
in the great congregation;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
as you know, O Lord.
10 I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
from the great congregation.
11 As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
ever preserve me!
12 For evils have encompassed me
beyond number;
my iniquities have overtaken me,
and I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head;
my heart fails me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me!
O Lord, make haste to help me!
14 Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
who delight in my hurt!
15 Let those be appalled because of their shame
who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”
16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, “Great is the Lord!”
17 As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God! (ESV)

Well tonight I went to the Harvest Crusades and it was such an amazing time to both worship the Lord and hear the Gospel preached! It was also encouraging to see some of you there and sit by one of you! :)
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
I’m feeling this verse a lot! I can relate to this verse cause right now, I’m on fire for the Lord! I can honestly say “Marantha!”. I want to do what God wants me to do! I want God to use me to do His will! I want to see a revival at Dana Hills next year, and I know it’s possible! I know I said this earlier and people looked at me crazy, but I think it can generate! Last year we only had about 5 people who went to True North, now we got 20 (I got myself an army now) and by the end of last year we had a lot of people! I also know what it takes and how to preach the gospel and God’s Word more effectively now! I’m so looking forward to next year’s campus lunches cause the potential power!
Ps 40:11-13 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me. Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me.
Now here’s a guy who knows who God is and his own sin. He knows tha God is pleased to save in spite of our failings! I want to live saved by the grace of God and His mercy and can’t wait for Him to come and redeem the rest of this place: Maranatha!!!
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
Every Israeli king had to make a personal copy of the Torah so that he would be without excuse in any sin he committed. But there’s a difference between knowing the Law to obey it & DESIRING to do God’s will. Our goal in reading God’s Word should go far beyond acquiring mere head knowledge; we should be making it so ingrained within us that God’s thoughts & desires have become our thoughts & desires.
& thanks KJ for the reminder: MARANATHA!!!!!
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
I do desire to do Your will in every aspect of my life. Please make Your will clear in my life so that I may follow You with all I have.
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Christianity is all about trusting God. We trust that Jesus’ life and death make us right before God and that he rose from the dead and conquered death for us. It also takes trust to follow Christ since we can’t both live for ourself or others and for him at the same time. I want my life to be characterized by trust. To do this I can’t be trusting in myself, other people, or systems that are all about this world. I need to make the LORD my trust. This reminds me of Proverbs 3:4-5:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
David makes public praise and adoration of God a regular part of his life. He sets a great example to me of someone who desires to make worshipping and praising God a public and everyday priority. As I read this verse i thought about how important it is to give God the credit and glory for anything good that happens in my life. I must not credit myself or miss the opportunity to share God’s goodness with others when they point out good things in my life. In the past few years God has blessed me with a beautiful daughter and an amazing house. When people tell me how “lucky” I am to have both of these things I make sure to let them know that “luck” has nothing to do with it. God is good, all the time, and when other people notice something good in our lives or about us we must be sure to point the attention to God, who rightfully deserves all praise!
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
This is so cool. From this verse I learned that I must be waiting for the Lord and crying to him. So when he comes I will be ready.
12 For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me.
We, as sinners face troubles all the time and my sins will overtake me and I cannot see through all the sin, guilt, fault. The sins i have fallen into are more than the hairs on my head and my heart fails within me. I need to pray to God and ask Him to save me and come quickly to me for help! Because God is the only one who is there for me every single time and the one that i can count on (;
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
God lifts us up out of the darkness and brings us to the light so we can trust in the Lord and not be proud and turn to false gods. So that we may believe in the God we trust our lives with.
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
A few days ago, I had a complete epiphany of God’s will. I always used to tell God that I wanted His will to be done because I knew it was the best. But I always did it with a grudging heart and a bad attitude. I always tried to convince myself that it was for the better but inside I would pout and try to manipulate the situations instead of letting God work. Now I’m at complete rest and peace with the Lord’s will. It was the most amazing feeling ever! I can honestly now say that in my heart I really do desire to wholeheartedly do the Lord’s will wherever He wants me in my life. He loves me more than I could ever love myself and who am I to question or tell Him that I knew what was better for my life? I stand in amazement. I can’t believe God put up with all of me during this time!. Our God is an awesome God!
11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me.
Amen! I’m going to pray for the Lord’s love and truth to pour out and protect me and others through everything especially since school is going to start out soon.
6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced , ; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
David writes that God doesn’t desire sacrifices and offerings. He then says that his ears are pierced. My Bible says that it is either referring to the sign by which a slave pledged lifelong service to his master, or that his ears are made able and eager to hear God’s law. Either way, it shows David’s willingness and desire to serve the LORD as His slave. David is trying to show that the LORD would rather have obedience than all the burnt offerings and sin offerings. I need to have the desire to serve that David has. I need to be ready and looking for ways to help, so that when I see an opportunity come up, I will be heretoserve. And I need to do so joyfully, not that I am just serving because I know it is the right thing to do and Bobby has been talking about it lately, but that I have a desire to obey the LORD and live my life as His slave. Especially around the house, it is easy to be lazy and when you are doing something, it is with a negative attitude. I need to fight laziness with an eager readiness to serve that carries out into action.
I might not be able to post for the next 4 or 5 days depending on if there is a computer I can use while Im on vacation.
14 May all who seek to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.
It is with the power of Gods great protection that helped david over come his physical enemies rather then his strong willed spirtitual savior
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
David is definitely open about his faith. He proclaims righteosness in the great assembly. Wow! I don’t know if I would be willing to proclaim righteousness in a great assembly. But we need to be outspoken about our faith and the God who we have a close relationship with. I need to tell others and not just keep my faith in my heart. Everyone needs to know about the God we serve!!
ELLO… I read
I like verse 8,”I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
I like this verse because it talks about the aditude all CHRISTians are supposed to have. When we repent and put our faith in GOD we are supposed to immedietly want to do everything GOD commands us to. Even though I personally have trouble doing this because I want to hang out with friends I need to put aside what is temporary and store up everything I have in what is eternal even though I may be made fun of or hated by others at least they will hear it and maybe become saved but that is all up to GOD.
CYA
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust: Trust in the Lord completely and lean not on my own understanding but rely on Gods plan for my life. To trust others here on earth can be quite difficult when we all have sinned, and that sin includes lying or gossip. The One person I know that i can fully trust, Who would never lie to me or turn against me or cheat me is the Lord. When a situation happens, i need to directly go to the Lord and make sure that i dont go to other people and not to God.
who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods: I know that at times i am the proud and i turn aside to false gods (AKA idols). I need to preach to myself and make sure that i am fully commited to God. and only God. That way i can be someone that others can turn to for Godly advice and i can be sure to give them Godly advice that i also live accordingly to.
Maranatha
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Like Pastor Bobby said while preaching today (and a main point), we need to make sure that our hope is in the gospel. We are full of sin and the wages were death but, through the love and mercy of God, He sent his son Jesus Christ to live that perfect life and take the wages of our sins: death and rose again so that we could be able to be with our savior for ever.
Just three things to say:
1. MARANATHA!!!!! Come O Lord!!
2. Bobby Blakey – Gospel me
3. Ben Blakey – Gospel me
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
This is an awesome verse that describes how is unashamed of the gospel. He says that he does not conceal God’s love and truth from the public. David can be seen as a great example here. Being unashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16) should mean that we are not embarrassed to be caught reading our bible, or praying, or evangelizing… ect. I pray that God will give me the boldness and courage to stand up and proclaim my faith to anyone around me and that I wont be ashamed of it.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
its amazing how god can change a person. you can just feel him there and you want to please him in every way possible…
lifechanging, to say the least.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
I can’t hide the fact that I’m a Christian, that’s not the Biblical thing to do. I have this joy and love for God that I’m not going to hide out of fear of the world. How are we going to make disciples of many if we aren’t brave enough to tell anybody about the truth of the gospel? Its time to have earth-shattering boldness in sharing God’s saving grace!
MARANATHA!
I loved verses 1-3!
It starts out with David praising God for His faithfulness to His children in every circumstance…wether it’s positive or negative. However, in our times of trouble the Lord is there to keep or bring us back to the right path. And David also recalls that the Lord will spiritually refuel His children…so how could someone not praise Him with a new song!
Micah 7:7
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
If we are in God and he in us, he will always provide for us. I can know that even when times get very difficult and I am in a “slimy pit”, God will pull me out and set me on the rock. He will always make sure that we are standing firm if we are in him.
Oh yeah…
MARANATHA!!!!!
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
This is a good verse….
I need o not only want to desire to obey God, I need to apply that. I feel like I am doing a pretty good job at this, but there is always room for improvement. I definately need to get better at evangelizing, but I am doing so much better at reading my bible and posting on scripture of the day.
Once again, awesome Psalm! David does not shy back in vocalizing the amazing things the Lord does. He sings; he plays an instrument; and he is truly open about exalting the Lord. God blessed David greatly. The Lord delivers David and makes him blameless. David is living what most Christians aspire towards their whole life. How does he do it? Is it him or is it the Lord? One thing I hear David consistently do is ask of the Lord. Each day in the Psalms David cries out to the Lord: deliver me, save me, help me, make me…and all these requests are focused upon trusting in the saving power of God. And David’s life was proof to it: he was delivered from all evils and was exalted as king because he asked and then trusted God’s promise. Maybe if we ask then we will receive if we have faith. Lord, may I with resolute faith trust in your promises always. And MARANATHA!! Come O’ Lord! I want to meet Jesus!
Gospel Me!
16 …may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “The LORD be exalted!”
If we are truly seeking the Lord’s will for our lives, we will find both peace and happiness. I am so thankful for the gospel. My hope is in Christ alone. The world is so lost and confused because they don’t know who they are, but our identity is found in Christ! He is exalted, the Lord is exalted on high!
Goodevening everybody . . .
I read . . .
Psalm 40 . . .
“8. I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
I pray from now on that this be my LIFE verse. That I would say it continously throughout the day, to remind myself of what I’m living for, why, and what the reward is. The answer to those questions are, I’m living for God, why, because He died on the cross for me and forgave all my sins, and the reward is HEAVEN. Pastor Bobby’s messsage was really convicting and spoke to me on how if God were to come back right now (the Rapture) would I be cought evangalizing, reading His word, or being holy? Or would I be cought sinning, listening to a bad song, or hanging out with the wrong crowd? The second point of the sermon is where I got that all from: ALWAYS BE READY.
Because we never know when our Savior and Creator will return to the planet that He created, we are to be ready for Him no matter when or where 24/7. =)

8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
These verses make me want to spread the gospel more!! Just like in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 where it says “the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night” I need to be ready for His coming and that is what i want to be doing when we meet him in the clouds!!!!
This sermon today was awesome btw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job Pastor Bobby!!!!!!!!

9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD. 10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Wow as I read this I was reminded of how I need to have the praise of God on my lips all the time. I need to always be talking about his goodness not just with my christians brothers and sisters but with outsiders to. David was so great at expressing his praise to God. I love when he says I do not seal my lips as you know. He has a confidence and knows God hears the praise . He also says “I speak of your faithfulness and salvation” It is so important that I am speaking to others of Gods faithfulness in my life and more important salvation. It is profound to think that I am saved from the wrath of God and the eternal destruction of hell. That is something that should make me praise him every day I live.
Thank you God for reminding me how important it is to always be praising you and giving credit to you through out my day. The next time I am asked “how is your day” I need to respond with praise and glory to you. Help me LORD to always be talking about you with others in everything and every circumstance. AND LORD MARANATHA!
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
When Jesus died for our sins on the cross, He lifted us out of the pit of sin that we were all in and put us on a firm rock (God) on which to stand. This should make us want to worship Him every minute of every day because of the wonderful thing He has done for us.
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
It would be pointless for me to accept Jesus in my heart and not proclaim His glory and mercy to the world. Following Jesus is just the first step, the next one is to follow His command to “make disciples of all nations” by telling everyone about the Gospel.
MARANATHA-COME OH LORD!!!!!!!!
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
We need to have this passion to obey God. His commandments should always be with us and we should be willing to obey them always. If we make decisions without thinking about God first, then we make decisions in selfishness. God’s Word needs to always come first. THe proof of our salvation and our faith is through our obedience.
V8 ” I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
This is a concept that so many of us struggle with, including me—letting all go to God, to step back and let Him lead, to surrender control to God. If His word is truly in me, in my heart, a part of who I am, then I should not interfere with God’s plans and live my life as He has instructed-He knows me better than myself.
V10 “I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly. ”
I’ve been speaking to so many about my new relationship with Jesus Christ. In doing so, I have been talking to others about Compass Bible Church and how it’s been the vessel that has encouraged me to grow in my spiritual life. As a result of that, as well at the recent True North Missions Trip, the new VPrinciPal from Laguna Hills High School (and his family) has now attended Compass two Sundays in a row!
Also, great job to all the freshman girls who’ve posted this week!
Way to go everyone in the True North Takeover this weekend! It was great worshipping with the True North band!
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
How awesome that when God saves us it’s like we have a new song to sing. Let’s use our lives to sing God’s praise so that others will know how awesome God is!
Thanks for a great example of this Tristan!
I definitely want my life to sing of God’s praises!
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
Answer to prayer! I love it!! We often find David crying out to God for his rescue. David’s response to answered prayer is amazing too as he immediately glorifies and praises him for what he has done!! Waiting patiently can be a hard thing for me to do when I pray sometimes…but i need to remember that God’s timing is perfect!! His answers to my prayers are always good no matter much i may like or dislike them. The simple thought of knowing that God listens to me and answers me when i pray is incredible in itself. I praise him, MARANATHA!! :D
Awesome job today TrueNorth…I think that we set the bar high :))
I love this Psalm, I have so much I could say but I will keep it short and sweet…God hears and answers my prayers and guides and protects me in HIS truth! I am reminded of John’s Gospel and how Jesus intercedes on our behalf to the Father, He prays for each one of His kids and He prays for our sanctification!
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
This reminds me of Revival 09. This is the way I felt after the first sermon. Also even more when Revival was over. Also my new song was lead me to the cross. I really felt like I was in a big pit and needed to dig myself out. Revival 09 is where I became a real Christain. I really put my trust into God. I too hope many people see the fear and puy thier trust into the Lord.
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Christians need to be preaching God’s word evangelizing every time that they can. I want to start doing this more because I know it pleases God and I don’t want people to suffer for eternity. David followed God’s instructions and told others about Him, and God was pleased with him for doing so, so I should do what david says he does in verses 9 and 10.
V.17
I really like this verse because we need Christ without Him we have nothing. And God is our help through the good and bad times and delivers us from everything. Christ is going to deliver everyone saved from this world soon so we can dwell with Him for eternity! MARANATHA!!!
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
Obeying God’s commands should be something that i desire to do, not just something i feel that i have to check off a list every day. Because i love him, i should never want to sin and always live by his word.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
This is a really encouraging verse to me about evangelizing!! When im around all my friends who dont know who God is, i should be speaking of God’s word to them because he is so great. I shouldnt want to hide my faith from anyone, and i dont! I want to go back to school and just be shinning like a star in the universe proclaiming God’s truth!
Psalm 40:6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced , ; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
well really, I am only commenting on this verse because of the part that says, “but my ears you have pierced”. Back in David’s time, slaves would have their ears pierced by their master and that shows that they are slaves. David is such a dedicated slave to Christ, and this is what I need to strive to be daily!!! I need to fearlessly share his good news, and live my life COMPLETELY for him, because we never know when our master is coming back for us :)
MARANATHA :)
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Like David, I need to me making sure that I am talking to people about who God is and what He has done for us. I’m a pretty shy person when I don’t know people, so tend to not want to talk to people. I never used to share my faith with people. By thinking that way I was being very selfish….I’ve begun to be much more open about it now and I pray that I will continue to be. Other people hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is much more important than me feeling ever so slightly uncomfortable.
12 For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to save me; O LORD, come quickly to help me.
sometimesit seems like i am so sinful or far from Gods holiness that there is no way that He would ever accept me as His child, but i love how verse 13 talks about the lord coming quickly. He is there so quickly to help us in times of need, He is there with us and is already on our side and it is sweet to know that God has got our back, i wouldnt want anyone else
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” 9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD. 10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
David is such a great example of how we need to be representing Christ and proclaiming His name! We shouldn’t be afraid to speak the Truth even in large crowds! And even though there will always be someone there to reject us and put us down, we know that we are pleasing God, especially if we are rejected because of our faith!
In verse 9, David is exclaiming to the LORD that he is all for Him! He knows he was placed on this earth to do God’s will. He was ready for the LORD to come! He was in the right mindset for the LORD’s returning!! Just like us, David never knew when Christ was coming, but he was serving his returning master! He had the Maranatha Mindset!!! Which is what we should always have!
I liked what Pastor Bobby said today about his reminder that said Maranatha! That way we can be reminded to always be ready!
MARANATHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Psalm 40
8 I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD.
Today at True North takeover Bobby talked about our readiness for the coming of our Lord and Savior. If we have a Maranatha mindset than we will never run the risk of being caught not doing the will of our Heavenly Father . Like Bobby said we need to be found serving our Lord in the ways that he has gifted us. You are not living until you are serving Him.
First and foremost we as Christians are here to proclaim God’s righteousness by spreading the Good News of the Gospel.
1st Thessalonians 2:4 On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.
Acts 20:24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
I need to always remember to be proud of being a child of God. This verse reminds me to always be living my life for Christ by spreading His word to those unknowing of it’s great salvation! God has called myself and every other Christian to do His work by spreading the good news! Sometimes, if I’m evangelizing to someone I tend to get embarrassed or shy in fear that I may offend them. I need to remember that it’s someone’s life I could be saving and bringing to God! I need to fulfill His job for me!

I love how on fire for God David is. He always wants to be praising God. He wants to proclaim God’s name everywhere. He is is no way ashamed of the Lord or of being a Christian. I think that that this sets an amazing example for me. I know that there is no way that we can carry out the commandment of the great comission if we are ashamed of the Lord or of being Christians. I know that I used to be embarassed and worried to share the Lord with my friends. I was scared the they would disaprove and make fun of me, or just push me away. But now I look forward to persecution and I an eager to share the great news of the gospel with everyone
