Psalm 25

Teach Me Your Paths

Of David.

25:1 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust;
let me not be put to shame;
let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.

Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For your name’s sake, O Lord,
pardon my guilt, for it is great.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
13 His soul shall abide in well-being,
and his offspring shall inherit the land.
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
and he makes known to them his covenant.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
bring me out of my distresses.
18 Consider my affliction and my trouble,
and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider how many are my foes,
and with what violent hatred they hate me.
20 Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for I wait for you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God,
out of all his troubles. (ESV)

  1. Brooke Miller says:

    8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

    Wow, once again, this whole passage is awesome! We are all sinners and we are nowhere near perfect. God is so holy and perfect, that as sinners, we should want to have our attitudes be more and more like Christ! He deserves completely everything, and we need to praise and glorify him in all we do! I know that I definitely need to work in trusting in God more. I sin, but I want to head on the path of light and to have an open and repentant heart toward what God wants me to do. This verse just seems so powerful to me! Its comforting to know that The Lord will guide you and that he will never leave nor forsake me!

  2. Riley Hancock says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    this is saying for God to show us the way the one way to live a good life forever. We should fallow that path that leads to you God.

  3. Beth Lauder says:

    3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

    This verse is a great promise for those of us who are Christians. If we have put our trust in Christ then we have our hope in HIm and we will never be put to shame. It does not say that our lives will be perfect, comfortable and free from difficult circumstances. If we live lives of obedience to Christ where our hope is in Him, He will be with us through all the tough times, just as David is acknowledging here. I love how the verse ends by saying that the treacherous will be put to shame. Oftentimes we do not get to see this on earth, but God, who is the just judge, will give the wicked the punishment they deserve when they are judged. This morning I am encouraged by this verse to cling to Christ in hope and trust that He will be with me in both the good and bad times of my life.

  4. PaYtOn :] says:

    12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

    We need to be in fear and in reverence of the LORD, for He is maker of everything. He has a will for each of us and knew it before the Earth had even existed. He knows you and He knows how He is going to use you for His will on Earth. Live your lives for Him, with palms open, waiting and willing to do ANYTHING the LORD calls/asks you to do. EVEN if it sounds crazy or impossible. Because all things are possible with Christ Jesus. :]

    ***LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR JESUS!!!***

  5. Dan Lauder says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    This is the kind teachable attitude God wants us to have. My first thought was for this weekend at True North. How awesome would it be if we all had this mindset as we heard from God’s Word? But then I read those last three words. God wants us to have this trusting dependent attitude all day long!

  6. Pastor Bobby says:

    I am excited for True North this weekend and hope to see you there!

    11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

    This is the way we should pray…for the sake of God’s name. I think that many of us think of forgiveness because we don’t want to go to hell or we want to get rid of our guilt or we want to be able to move on. However, David asks God to forgive him so that God would get glory! He knows that when God forgives sinners who don’t deserve it, then it shows off his mercy for how great it is.

    Like we talked about at Revival Remix we were the ones who put Jesus on the cross because of our sin, yet God demonstrated his love by sending his Son for us, even when we were his enemies. This makes God’s love look so awesome!

    I am praying because of how God has been good to me that he will get the glory! That people will see he has saved me from my sin and given me a new life in Christ and that will make God look attractive and praiseworthy to everyone who sees me!

    Special guest appearance of The Revival Band at True North and Here To Serve #3 from Ephesians 6:5-8. See you there!

  7. hunter 2010 says:

    Great comments Beth and Brooke!

    12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.
    13 He will spend his days in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
    14 The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

    These verse are great reasons why we should obey God! Not only should we fear God because of His wrath on sin, but we should realize the bennefits that come from fearing our Creator. The 3 ways shown in these verse are 1) specific life instruction, 2) prosperity and fertility, 3) a deeper relationship with God and deeper knowledge of God. This gets me excited to obey my God, and I pray this encourages you to fear and obey Him too!

  8. Mike says:

    22 Redeem Israel, O God, from all their troubles!

    David is praying that Israel will be redeemed, that God will save them from the things around them, rescue them from their sin, and set them back on a path of following Him once more. Do we pray this way? Not only should this be our attitude about our nation (which is in desperate need of prayer), but it should be our prayer for our high schools as well. The time is quickly approaching when we will be back in school, surrounded by lost souls who need Christ more with every passing second, for the Judgement is drawing ever nearer. We need to be in daily prayer for revival and redemption, that God would work in the hearts of our fellow students and draw them to Himself. And we should also be praying that God will use us in great ways, opening up doors for us to bring His Truth to those living in the darkness.

  9. Ian H. says:

    8 “Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
    9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.”

    What an awesome God the LORD is! Even though He is perfect and good, while we are sinners/evil, he teaches and instructs us in His ways (righteousness). But notice the specific type of people He guides: the humble. There’s another verse (I think it’s in Proverbs) that says “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” As we can clearly see, humility is a quality that God loves. David tells us here that He guides and teaches those who are humble in what is right. We should strive, especially as we’re hearing pastor Bobby’s and Ben’s “Here to Serve” messages, to be humble, to elevate our view of others and lower our view of ourselves.

  10. melissa says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    I need to be more like David in the fact that I don’t concentrate on the Lord as much as I should… I need to think about His amazing love and mercy all the time. In the second part of the verse, I think David sets a great example for people living in darkness because David puts all his trust in the Lord and strongly believes that He will save him from his troubles. I pray that everyone in the world will hear the gospel, put their trust in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and follow Him forever!!

  11. Melissa Cox says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    God wants to teach us his ways…that’s why he gave us the Bible. We need to consistently read His word and meditate on what we read. We then need to be obedient. This weekend, let’s approach the Bible and the sermon at church with an attitude of obedience.

  12. Michelle [maranatha] 2010 says:

    3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

    I think that this verse is extremely encouraging. Like Melissa said, this is such a great promise to us Christians…
    I find that almost every time i talk to someone about a relationship with Christ, they bring up one question: “If God loves me, then why did He let me go through that bad situation?”
    Though we may not comprehend what God has in store for us, we need to relax and let God take control. I need to be sure that i have complete hope in Christ so that i wont have a hint of worry in my bones!!!
    Im doing a bible study with my stepmom called “Lord, Heal my Hurts” and its really good…the other day we were studying different passages in which God healed His people. In a couple different passages, i realized that people were crying out for Gods mercy because they did their own thing and did not trust in Gods plan…they doubted God
    Finally, i came to the realization that when i pray for my sisters’ and brothers’ salvation, i get a little nervous when i pray for the Lord to do everything in His power to soften their heart and break their hard-heart! The reason why i get nervous, and even a little scared, is because that could involve the loss of someone in our family, or something bad happening to them or someone in my family to make them realize that they need someone in their lives to make them whole- God. But i should not fear what happens here on earth, i should fear God! I need to make sure that i am fully trusting in Him and His plan for my family and myself. There should be no reason why i fear Gods plan for the salvation of my siblings…i should be overjoyed even more to know that God does hear my prayers and that He will answer them in His time, and in His perfect way.

    MARANATHA!

  13. ♫ І€ƒƒ€ñ ♫ says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    David is asking the LORD to show him His ways and to teach him His paths. He is seeking guidance from God, wanting truthful instruction. And he is seeking all this because his hope is steadfast in the LORD all day long. This is a great example of how we need to live. We need to be seeking God’s ways and desiring to learn how to live as He wants us to live. To be guided in His truth and taught by His instruction, that needs to be the cry of my heart. For as I know that I am not enough on my own, I need guidance, and perfect guidance comes from the LORD. His Word, the Bible, is filled with things He has inspired people to write down so that we can learn about it and apply it to our lives. The Bible is a guide for us of how to live our lives, and I need to be devoted to learning what it says and putting it into action!

  14. P.J. says:

    “My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.”

    David knows and trusts that God is the only one who can release him from the trap and deviation of worldly desires. He was in control of a great kingdom, with power given to him from God and I’m sure it was easy for him to have a desire for worldly “stuff”. None of us are kings, but we still have this “snare” always before us, and we need to trust God to release us from it. The snare could be material things, but it could also be other sins that we are holding onto, maybe it’s lust, other idols, or pride. Whatever our “snare” is we need to trust in the Lord and refuse to trust in ourselves. I need to be searching for any snares in my life and look for the way out of them, which always involves God’s strength!

  15. Tanner says:

    ELLO… I read

    I like verse 3,”No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.”

    I like this verse because it tells of us being not being able to be put to shame. People may be put to shame by others who don’t have you we may be hated but by you we will not be put to shame. GOD will never be shameful upon us.

  16. Elise says:

    12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

    Our God is one who should be feared! He is not a nice looking young man sitting on the clouds with butterflies sitting on his shoulder!! He is the ruler of the entire universe! Only those who can humble themselves after realizing this and repent of their sins before and give their entire life to this Holy God and can have eternal life with Him! Once they do, God will graciously instruct through His word. I also love how this verse tells us that God has a specific way chosen for everyone! How encouraging to know that this powerful God of the universe wants to instruct me and make a path for me that leads to Him!

  17. Nachooooooooooo says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    We need to make sure that we are always keeping our eyes focused on the Lord. Its easy to get distracted and put things before God, but we need to remember that He is truly all that matters. He will bless those who keep their eyes focused on Him.

  18. 4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    Awesome prayer! I really love all of David’s prayers, they are so sincere and passionate. He really wants to seek and glorify God. What a great example of someone after God’s own heart. I want God to keep guiding me every day through everything and for me to keep learning from His word. Our only hope is in God. Right now other people look for different ways of hope- like political leaders, materialistic things, idols but God is our only hope. He’s the only one we can trust and put our whole faith in Him.

    10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

    God is love! It says ALL the ways. not some or a little but all of them. That’s so comforting to me. Sometimes I don’t understand why I’m in a certain circumstance or why this is happening to me but God has a plan for all of us. This was at the time when the old covenant was still intact where they had to have high priests and laws and sacrifices but Jesus came down to die for us sinners, offered His own blood even though we don’t deserve it. That always amazes and awes me. We don’t have to go through religious rituals We can have a personal relationship with Jesus! This also reminds me of Romans 8:28.

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    This reminds me of a worship song where one of the lyrics are ” Oh, I can’t see when my eyes are on me.” That’s soooooooooo true. We should focus our eyes on the Lord and not on other things. It’s easy to be distracted by ourselves or by the things of the world. But God keeps His promises, only He will release us from our sinful bondage. We need to keep our eyes always on the Lord.

  19. KJ2010 says:

    Great to all you see on here!

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    Do we cry this out to the Lord? This is a very good thing to cry out in several ways! We should be asking God this so that we can be like Him and reflect His light and just be imitators of Him! We should be trying to learn by His example of His ways in the Bible! It’s a crime, if you don’t read the Bible every day! Seek Him!

  20. Allen "Wrench" McAnlis says:

    19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!
    20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

    When you become a Christian, you basically invite people to critisize you and persecute you. If your a REAL Christian that is. Their are plenty of people who claim to be Christians but they aren’t persecuted because they don’t live for Christ. If you are being persecuted because of standing up for Christ and His word that is a sure way to tell that your heart is truely on fire for God. Take persecution as a good thing, because God is always there to protect you if things start to get bad.

  21. Francesca is so thankful for God's mercy! says:

    Hey everyone, I like verse 15:

    “My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.”

    God is the only way for us to escape hell. Our lives should revolve around his commandments because he is the only thing standing between us and an eternity spent in hell. I am and always will be forever grateful for the mercy he has had on me. His way is the ONLY way and my goal is to honor him with everything I do. He deserves to be praised because he is such a merciful God.

    See you all on Sunday!!! :D

  22. Nicholas Bonetto says:

    I like Psalm 25:5, “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

    I need to keep disciplining myself towards godliness, I want to be disciplined by God. If I’m disciplined by God, I know that He will guide me in the light, and I can put my trust in Him. I also need to know that if I’m going to be disciplined by God, He will “spank” me, there will be consequences for falling away. I’m ready to live with no comprise, but I can’t do it by myself, I need to trust God.

  23. Jenae Naeeee (= says:

    19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!

    This just kind of reminds me that as i grow more and more in Christ, there are going to be more and more people who hate me. This has already happened to me but i just need to be prepared for it to get worse. I am going to have to deal with that and just trust in God and be thankful for the people that Love me.

  24. cristina brower says:

    Psalm 25:12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

    We need to always fear the Lord! Fearing the Lord means recognize God for who he is: holy, powerful, righteous, and pure. When we realize who God is, we realize how sinful we are! When we humble ourselves before God, He will then show us the way!

  25. ~Elizabeth Reeves~ says:

    8 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
    9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

    God is awesome! We are unworthy, unperfect sinners. This is why we need to listen to God. When He teaches us, we need to listen because His way is the right way! But if we don’t have humble hearts, we cannot be taught because we don’t want to or refuse to. So in order to learn from God, we need to have soft, moldable hearts ready to learn.
    God is perfect, holy, and good, and we need to follow His example!

  26. Lizzie Holt :D says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    This is one of the verses Pastor Bobby talked about at beach night. God is angry with US for our sin. He hates the sin AND THE SINNER. It is only through Jesus Christ that
    God is prevented from opening a can of wrath on us. This verse also reminded me of how much God loves us. He loves me to the max all the time! How amazing is that?! No one can ever repay that and the least we can do is give ourselves to Him, heart, mind, and soul.

    19 See how my enemies have increased and how fiercely they hate me!

    Like Jenae said, the more we obey God and the closer we get in our walk with Him, the more we will be persecuted. This has already happened to so many people including me but I know it will happen more and more. I might even lose friends over my walk with God the way things are going now. But I know no matter what happens, God has a plan and He will get me through if I trust in Him and I’m extremely grateful for a God that cares that much about me especially since I’m a sinner. Praise to the God Almighty!!

  27. jeff Modugno 2010 says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    This verse showed me how I need to be praying to God to teach me more. God is there for me and I should put my hope in him to show me his truth. Lets strive to live holy lives.

  28. Jasmine Douglas says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    Oh what beautiful verses. Every day we should be growing more and more in our faith, yearning to learn more about our Creator. If we have hope in God , we will go through life with so much more happiness, knowing that God is always with us. It’s so comforting to know that he knows our life from beginning to end. He’s in total control of it all. I feel like I say that a lot but it’s because it’s so true! We need to be reminded of that daily!

  29. Jessica K says:

    20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
    21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.

    David trusts fully in God and takes shelter in Him. I need to remember to always put my trust in God and know that He will rescue me. I also need to place my hope in God. If I do these things, then integrity and uprightness will protect me. It is important to put my faith in Jesus because He will give me strength.

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    I am the Lord’s servant and want to learn from Him. I want to follow the path He has laid out for me.

  30. Jackson Dahl says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    God is the only one that can save us. If we rely on anything else, we are not trusting in him and being unfaithful. He not only saved us from eternal punishment, but he watches out for us everyday. We just need to put our trust in him and live in him, and he will do the rest!

  31. Murphy Danahy says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    GOD forgives all sins. He forgives us even though we are not worthy. We are so incredibly unworthy and yet GOD forgives us. We are all rebellious, whether it is towards GOD, our Parents, or people in authority. GOD hates it when we are rebellious against those he has put over us and yet he forgives us.

  32. Zach V says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD

    Whenever we do a sin as a christian God forgives us and forgets it. This isn’t a “do all the sin and not get punished for it” card because a sign of a true christian is obedience but it is a testament to God’s mercy towards us lowly humans. Thank you LORD for forgiving my sin and remembering it no more.

  33. josh says:

    1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
    i need to work on honoring and praising God in everything that i do.

  34. Rachel McKee says:

    3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

    When we sacrifice an area of our life to the Lord, then God always does great things for us in that area. God will not let us down or let us be put to shame if we give our whole self to him.

  35. billy morris says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    I need to always make sure that I never stray from what God wants me to do, and I need to be asking him what he wants me to do. He is the only one that can save us and need to always remember that. God hates whenever people do not follow what he wants and punishment is in store for anyone who doesnt

  36. Jacob Decker says:

    6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.
    20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
    21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.

    It is true, our Lord and Savior’s mercy, love, and protection is infinite. God is always there for me and I cannot become distracted when I stray from the Lord. I must tread in the footsteps of the Lord, follow his will and spread the Word of the Lord by being examples of Christ and soldiers for the Lord. Praise the Lord for the things he has blessed me with.

  37. ۞۞Ŧŗɇɤϕŗ ђɵśᵮɵŗȡ ۞۞ says:

    9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

    God guides us to do what he wants if we are himble and allow him to lead us, sometimes it is hard and not the fun thing to do but it is what God wants us to do. So we need to obey the Lord and let him do his will through us

    c u all at church either today or tomorow

  38. Cameron says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    this verse is not saying that the Lord is not omniscient, or that He will actually forget our sins, for we will be held accountable at the BEMA seat judgment where we will give a record of all of our deeds as a Christian (2 Corinthians 5:9-10). rather this verse is talking about how before God, when i die and meet Him, i will be reckoned righteous because God imputed Christ’s righteous life to my account and made Him who knew no sin to be sin for me (2 Corinthians 5:21). i will rejoice and praise God for His grace in that when i meet Christ, my sin will be erased and my shame forgotten! praise to Jesus Christ!

  39. kelly causky is back says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    We should pray to God to show us our sins so that we can repent of them. It is bad to become so accustomed to our sin that we continue to repeat it over and over without feeling any guilt. Pray to God to make our sinful habits known to us.

  40. Ryan Cox says:

    All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

    This Psalm is a bit different from many other Davidic Psalms in its structure: many Psalms BEGIN with David crying out to God first, then moving on to reminders of how good, righteous, & just God is. This one begins by David praising God first, then moving on to begging for God’s help, mercy, graciousness. It’s so profound that David’s Psalms are not simply formulaic, but genuine expressions of his heart & soul @ a particular moment in time. In thus case, it’s almost as though his praises to God remind him that God can & will take care of his problems, no matter how big or small. May we have the same BIG VIEW of our sovereign God!

  41. Brennan says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    This verse shows how much David thrived to be like God asking him in this verse to know His ways and how to go through life. I need to be more passionate in my life to be more like God.

  42. Damixmasta says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths

    O LORD teach me your ways and allow me to be a slave to you for your burdens are easy and your yokes are light. Let the words I hear when I die be You telling me that I’m a good slave and that I may enter your happiness. let me obey your word and do it in joy.

  43. mady adler :) says:

    10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

    This verse is really encouraging! I need to keep God’s commands, and he will be faithful to me, and show me love. Sometimes it can be easy to get our minds focused on worldy things, and wanting to please people. My main goal needs to be pleasing God!!! If I do this, I know I will be rewarded, and God will show me love and faithfulness :)

    Thanks for the awesome message tonight, Pastor Bobby!! :D

  44. katie baxter says:

    20 Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

    21 May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.

    This psalm is amazing! If we put our faith and trust in the Lord, he is going to protect us and look out for us, and that is such an amazing promise!

  45. Laura Johnson says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    I like how David says he always looks to the Lord because God is the one who can really help us in hard situations. I want to rely on God more in tough times than trying to fix them myself.

  46. Ella says:

    12 Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ? He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

    I want to be that man/ woman who fears the LORD! I was discussing with a friend about this how God already chose a way for me and I want to do something different. I know that what I want in my future is not what God has planned. I need to just stop thinking of what I want and let God tell me what he has chosen for me.

    Thanks Sara for making me realize that. :)

  47. Alison says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    This is one of the wonders of the Lord’s forgiveness! He forgives all the sins of before we were saved, plus the sins we commit later as Christians. This is all due to his amazing love… the way he loved the world by sending Jesus to die for all these sins that we willingly commit. That kind of unimaginable love deserves honor and praise!

  48. Matt Crichton says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    David was a smart guy. Yet still he went to the Lord for guidance and teaching. We need to follow his example and seek Gods guidance everyday through reading his Word and through prayer.

  49. Kelsey says:

    10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

    For me this is a great reminder of what we need to do in order for our relationship to thrive in Christ and to live in peace with Him. It clearly say here that we need to keep the covenant. It says that if we do this we will witness the Lord’s love and faithfulness. i know that I need to keep reminding myself of this. I am going to write this verse on my mirror as a daily reminder of the importance of keeping His commands.

  50. Andrew Richards says:

    10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

    It’s really hard for me to focus on what God wants me to do over what people want me to do sometimes but I have to remember that God will be loving and faithful if I do what he wants over what people want. He will show me love and compassion and he will be pleased and reward me if I do what he asks of me.

  51. Fëanor says:

    11 For the sake of your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

    Sometimes I feel like God could never forgive me because I fail so much. This verse speaks to my heart and shows me that other people feel the way I do. Even David, a man who walked after God’s own heart, felt guilty. I must be more careful to obey, but I can also take comfort in the fact that God will forgive.

  52. Ashlyn--:) says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    i really like these two verses, everytime when i pray i pray for wisdom and that wheni am tempted i will choose the goldly thing to do….i pray that Christ will lead me down His path and i will not be bumped off the rode. God is so faithful to us, he is never the one to walk away, rather it is us who gett distracted all we need to do is ask for God to guide and protect us along the way!

  53. Lauren Goudge is striving to be a better doulos!! says:

    hiiii guuyys!
    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.—Reading this, I am asking God to reveal more of himself to me and that He may give me the truth of what he is telling me to do! Like in the sermon tonight, as I am trying to be a dedicated slave to Jesus I am wanting to learn more about God each day and to know all about how he wants me to live my life!! The end of this verse also reminded me that I need to have more hope and trust in God. I have been worrying about one main thing in my life and I think its time to just give it all up to God and trust in Him that He has the best plan!

    Amazing sermon tonight Pastor Bobby!!

  54. Callie says:

    2 in you I trust, O my God.

    I definately need to work on trusting God. Sometimes I try to solve problems without His help, or I get all worked up about something without praying. I am going to work on putting my trust in Him and giving Him my worries and cares.

    Great sermon, Pastor Bobby!

  55. Ben Blakey says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    6 Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    I love this passage from Psalm 25. Not only is he praying for forgiveness (remember not) he is also asking God to teach him a new way of life! Now he wants to walk in the ways of God.

    I need to pray and live like that. Not only should I be thanking God for his mercy that forgives my sins, I should be constantly asking him to teach me his ways!

  56. Sara L. says:

    7 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.

    God is SO merciful to us…despite all the sins we commit…He loves us so much that He sent His son to die the death that we should have died after living the life that we should have lived. We deserve NOTHING, but He gives us everything. Knowing this never fails to bring me to tears.

  57. josh senger says:

    4 Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;
    this reminded me of how much we have to rely on God for everything that we do in our lives! we need to be seeking Gods ways and not our own. the worlds way is easier but it is way better to take the narrow path and Serve God instead of earthly idols

  58. Evan McKee says:

    3 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

    It is so awesome that our God looks out for those who trust in him. I am so glad that He is looking out for me. It is so important for Christians to warn others about what their sin does to them so that they are not destroyed for being treacherous without excuse.

  59. Haley Litz says:

    15 My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare.

    Only God can save and my eyes need to be fixed on Him just like David says his were. My actions and deeds can’t save me and neither can anyone else on this earth, only the LORD can save me through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. My eyes must be fixed on the Savior and Redeemer on my sins becuase putting my focus or trust anywhere else is foolish.

  60. Anabelle Burns says:

    Verses 4-5 says:”Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” wow i love these verses, after reading it, it was so convicting to me that i should every day have an attitude and heart open to listen for God’s ways, His teachings, His truth, and be a slave for Jesus Christ! im praying that the moment i wake up my motives and desires are seeking for Him and being a slave ready to obey and do whatever He commands me to do!

  61. Rebekah Foreman says:

    4. Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths;

    Teach me your Word oh Lord and guide me on the path towards Heaven.

    5 guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

    This is reminding me that God will teach me through the Bible and that I need to trust Him.

  62. Chelseaaaaa says:

    1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul

    Lord God help me. Though I go through difficult times, help me to keep my mind and soul focused soley on You alone. Help me lean and trust in You when things seem to be falling apart.
