Greeting
1:1 The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all who know the truth, 2 because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever:
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.
Walking in Truth and Love
4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. 5 And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
Final Greetings
12 Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
13 The children of your elect sister greet you. (ESV)

12 Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
In a world where most people would rather text or FB than visit over the phone or live in person, this verse stood out to me. It also stood out to me, because I am a writer. I could go for HOURS. And though it in fact comes from the depths of my heart, this verse reminds me that relational joy is complete when two hearts are joined in live communion–NOT when I spew the overflow of my heart onto a piece of paper, and commune more with that piece of paper than the one to whom I am writing. It is such a blessing we are given to foster our God-ordained relationships. It is an evangelistic tool that we ought not take for granted or disregard. We win hearts for Christ when we invest our time, hearts, and lives in others. This is a way we put our faith into street cred action.
This verse ALSO points me to the sweet anticipation that builds daily within my heart for the Day I will come face to face with my Jesus–the Day my joy will be truly complete.
great connection to when we see Jesus!
You always have awesome comments that encourage me Stacy! :D Thanks!
In the great words of Pastor Ben,… “Here to serve!” I’m very blessed and encouraged to travel this road back Home alongside you, myself. You guys help motivate me to live with better integrity and stand strong. I appreciate you, and I thank our good and perfect God for you! Happy Friday. See you tomorrow at the Girls’ Workshop?! I HOPE SO!!!
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.
It is scary to think that many “Christians” are deceiving themselves into thinking they are right with God when really they are not. It is commanded that as a Christian, it is our mission to make disciples of Christ! It is MY job to be out there at my school campus, Town Center, etc wherever, and to be sharing the good news with people and speaking of Christ’s coming! Its either I fear men, or the Lord, one or the other. God is the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell and who is the judge, so I want to be doing what he tells me to do! I do not want to be selfish and not share the gospel with other people because of fear! I pray that I will be bold and fearless whenever I get an opportunity to witness to someone and that the Holy Spirit will give me the words to say! Trying to win souls, it’s not a debate!!!! This verse is a total motivation to stop being lazy or fearful and to go talk to others about Christ! I know that I am going to be held accounted for everything, and I want to please my master and always be obedient.
6 and this is love that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
We should obey God because we love him and are grateful for all that Jesus Christ did for on the cross and with his resurrection. Christ was the ultimate example of love because he loved us while we were still yet sinners. Our motivation to obey God should not be because we are trying to win his favor or gain acceptance into heaven. That is heresy and is exactly what all the false religion want you to believe. God requires perfection therefore it is impossible for any of us to earn our way to heaven because we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So today and everyday that I live and I want to love the Lord my God with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength, because I love him and since I love God then I wouldn’t want to do anything that would make him angry or displeased. I know God hates sin, therefore I will obey his commandments. Dear Lord give me the strength and perseverance to obey your commands and thank you sending Jesus Christ to atone for my sins.
Good Morning!!
Verse 3
“Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.”
To me this just defines our God, The Trinity. He will give us His Grace, Mercy, and Peace if we live in the truth and walk in love(2 John 1:6). We just need to repent for our sins and actually stray away from them more and more everyday so that we may become less sinful and closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
2 John 1:9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
This verse talks about people in this church who are following a “new” teaching and rejecting the truth about Christ. It is surprising to note that opposition of the truth will not only come from those who are not involved in churches, but from within the church. This verse is talking about people who are a part of the congregation, yet they are deceived and are deceiving others. I had a situation a few months back where someone who was in my small group at WBS was not speaking biblical truth about the gospel, so I stood up to her. She was very angry and attacked me personally and to others behind my back. I was so shocked and hurt because I thought we were on the same team, I thought that because she was attending Compass Bible Church that she was all for the truth. 2 John 9 sheds light on what happened to me and you shouldn’t be surprised if it happens to you, too. True Christians are going to have opposition from outside the church for sure, but we can also expect it from inside the church. We must be sure to hold tightly to sound doctrine so that we do not fall pray to lies. Those people who do “do not have God,” which means that they are not right with God and will not inherit eternal life…scary!
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
This verse is saying that we need to be aware of false prophets because there are so many people out there pretending to be the real deal. We as Christians should be able to realize who is truthful and who is not. We need to make sure we are going to a church that gives us the truth. I am so thankful for Compass Bible Church. I am thankful that we get to hear the truth!!!!!
Maranatha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
The Bible makes in clear that we need to love one another. How do I do that? I follow the commandments. This means everytime I have an opportunity to act on a Biblical truth that I have learned I should take it. By consistently putting into practice God’s truth, I ensure that I am walking in the truth. If I know the truth but do nothing than I am not walking, but sitting. We are called to be walkers not sitters!
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
I have learned that love isn’t always the emotion that we feel towards God, but rather it is our obedience to Him that defines our love. I want to love Christ more so I am going to do what He says!
REMEMBER THIS ALWAYS. Refer to Jeremiah 17: 9-10 as a reminder throughout your life…!
4 I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father.
I think it is awesome when someone becomes a Christian! :D It’s so cool to see them grow and to see the fire that is now within them for God instead of the world. My job is to keep that fire going and make sure they stay with God. Keeping them accountable is showing them how I love them. I pray that one day, my children will grow to know the Lord and that they will help others come to know Jesus Christ. That would be so awesome! I also pray that I may help others now come to know Jesus. Today in Bible Lit, I let this one child borrow my pen that had the gospel in it. I saw that he was reading it and he looked interested. I hope I get a chance later on to talk to him! Lord, help me rep your name. :) MARANATHA!
amen! so glad ur feelin better! (missed u n econ ;< ) and i'll be praying for that kid in ur bible lit that u get to talk to him/her about Christ :)
yay. i remember when we had that one convo when i said that i gave ppl cbc pens and you said that no one asked you to borrow a pen but now someone did. Praise God! I will be praying for no distractions, boldness, and an open heart!
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
When I tell people I’m a Christian and follow the Lord, they usually ask me what I “have to do.” This also happens when I refuse to partake in sin, and they ask me if Christians “aren’t allowed to do this.” That bugs me for a couple reasons. First of all, its not only Christians who are responsible for God’s commands, but ~everyone~. Second, I don’t do things for God (or not do things) because I have to do it, like there’s something bad going to happen if I don’t (although there is). I follow Christ’s commands because I love the Lord and want to please Him. Before I was truly saved, I considered the Bible as a guide how not to go to Hell. But now I realize that Jesus DIED for me and my sins, so I want to do whatever He asks of me in return. Plus, if I do these things, I can spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Maranatha, and use me as You wish until then Lord!
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
i’s really imprtant to keep an eye out for sin! its somwthing that we know alot about, and the Bible talks alot about sin, too, but alot of times we think really little of it without realizing. Sin is huge! God cannot be around sinners, and the only reason we can be with Him is because of the death of Christ. We aren’t excused from sin because were christians, either. we are supposed to come as close to holy and sinless as humanly possible because we are christians!! i pray that God keeps us alert to out sin and to the sin of others.
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.”
This sounds a lot like Galatians 1:8, which says
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.”
Both of them are giving an extreme warning against people who do not abide in the teachings, or the original Gospel. And the reasoning for that is that they will lead you astray! They are the lions prowling around seeking to devour you, so we must pay very close attention that we do not fall into one of their traps.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
This is good becassue it is important to always be obeying God in every way. This should never be overlooked.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
God showed His love for me by dying on the cross for my sins. I have to love Him back by obeying His commandments. It says many times in the Bible that a Chrisitan should be producing fruit, and should actually follow God, which shouldn’t be a problem. I heard and responded to love in the beginning, but I need to continue to show my love for God. I will do that by listening and DOING what He says!
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.
If we walk in truth and in love God’s grace, mercy, and peace will be with us! We are so blessed to have a God who cares for us, has an undying love for us, and continually blesses us. Let us walk in His ways and stay straight on the path that leads to Him.
Great to see you on SOTD!
Amen to that :)
I read…
Verse 8… “Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.”
In this verse, John reminds the people he is writing to, to persevere and not stop standing. In our daily lives, we need this type of encouragement. I pray that we would be checking in with our friends frequently and asking them how their spiritual walk is going. I am praying that this will keep going with my friends and me.
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
I chose this verse because it is a really good verse to warn us christians. Because we are true christians that stand out and stand up for God, satan is in to attack us at any given moment. Im not sure if any of you have noticed, but those who are not christians seem to not have many problems in their lives. But then you look at your life and notice yourself being persecuted and trying to stay out of sin. For those of you who feel bad for yourself, dont! Being persecuted is a great thing! In fact if your life seems easy, theres something wrong. Satan should be attacking you because he knows your spreading the word of God. So be happy when satan attacks and but more importantly be ready! And theres nothing to worry about; we have God on our team!!! :D
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
I need to watch myself that I do not fall into sin, especially the same sins. They say it takes a lifetime to build up a reptuation and a minute to destroy one. I need to hold my faith as my top priority and not let any of my words or actions destroy my relationship with Christ. I should obey Him at all times. I also want to set a good example to non-Christians and not be a hypocrite. It is difficult to live as a Christian, but I do not want to throw it all away by veering in the wrong direction. God is faithful and I in return need to be faithful to Him. He is so merciful and wonderful. I need to be aware of “false Christians” and share with them the truth of God’s Word :D
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
This is a great verse. In the real world, we will be tempted with ungodly things and our flesh will want to pursue those things but we cannot. We need to make war with our fleshly impulses and trust in God to help us through the temptation. Without God, we will fail every time. There have been many times when I myself have tried to overcome a temptation and I always fail. I trust in my own doing and not in the Lord and I fail. If there’s one thing ive learned all my life, its DON’T TRUST YOURSELF!! Praying and accountability are essential to stay away from sin. I pray that when I am tempted, I will always trust in God and choose his way out, not my own.
2 John 1:5 And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.
One of God’s greatest commandments is to love. We are to show God’s love to others because of his ultimate love for us. God crushed his one and only son, Jesus Christ for our sins. This was a remarkable act of love for sinners who deserve eternal punishment. I need to show my love more towards my friends because I love them. I also need to be loving and compassionate to those who I may not necessarily agree with. I can show my love to other by sharing the Gospel with non Christians and inviting them to church.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
God’s love is the true definition of love because it means that by obeying his commandments, we are proving our love for him through actions, not just words. As is always true, actions speak louder than words, and if I want to speak louder of my love for Christ I need to make sure my actions match my words.
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward. 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
Therefore if we do not carefully remain in God’s Word and in a healthy relationship with Christ, we may slip away and our actions will stray away from the teachings we’ve learned. It’s so important to make sure we live our lives right as Christians…I do not like when a person who merely goes to church is called a “Christian” despite the fact that the way they live their life totally contradicts what the Bible teaches. I want to always strive my best to be a good Christian example to others and share the Gospel with them so that they may know the true definition of a Christian—not only through words, but through actions :]
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
mhmmm. The world thinks of love in a totally different way but love is where we do what God commands us to do and his commands aren’t burdensome; He loves us and we love Him. I want to walk with Him each and every day. I am focusing on loving others. Yesterday I was reading 1 Corinthians 13 and replaced love with my name to see if I loved others but I still have many improvements. In this fast paced instant gratification world we live in, it’s hard to be patient or wait on God’s perfect timing. I am going to frame this verse in my mirror so I can meditate on it everyday!
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
The word here for abide can mean to remain or stay. Real Christians stay Christians. We will continue in the teaching of Jesus Christ. This makes me excited to preach this weekend and I hope you will be there to hear the teaching about Jesus Christ!
Loving God means obeying his commandments.
This is definitely my desired focus point, loving the Lord with everything I have.
Maranatha!
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
we need to make sure that we dont stray away from God’s light, we need to be strong and resist sin! With God on my side, i know i can do this:)
Good day everybody, sorry for the late comment but I was literally only been home for seriously like an hour after a long day of school, the campus lunch, volleyball tournament, and a bonfire.
About the Campus Lunch, I know that I sent out a mass text to probably 15 people last night to pray. The message (I”ve know some of you been asking) went really well. I was bold, I made my points, and it was just a good message! So praise God! It also encouraged me to see the other Dana teen ministers (all of them) being really supportive!
2 John 1:9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
I think this verse is a common theme throughout all of 1 John and this chapter of 2 John also mentions it. If anyone does not abide to Christ teachings they do not have God and are not a Christian is what John is saying. If you do abide, you are a Christian.
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
I always need to be watching myself so that I dont slip into the hands of sin! As a Christian, I need to be striving for perfection, and not giving into temptations when they come my way. I need to keep my hope and faith in Christ, and rely on him to help me when times get tough instead of automatically giving up and giving in. If I persevere, my reward will be great in Heaven!! This is really cool! I cannot wait to get to heaven where there will be NO sin and NO temptation, and all we will be doing is worshipping Christ!! (:
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
It only takes a moment of carelessness on a guard’s part to allow the enemy to strike; in the same way, our Enemy is prowling around looking for Christians with their defenses down. There is never a time when we do not have to be ready to fight sin in our lives, as soon as we notice it and until we are certain it is gone. And even then, we cannot let ourselves become too comfortable. If we see sin in our lives and do not correct it, we will fall into a pattern which will lead to increased discipline. I need to make sure I’m always praying and watching my own life so that I can live a life above reproach and bring glory to God!
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
This verse is definitely a motivation and a warning for Christians to fight sin and live a continual life of holiness. Lord willing, we will at least 60 more years serving Him on this earth (unless the Rapture happens, which would be way more legit!). That is a lot of hard work! But this verse warns us that we must be on our guard, ready to kill sin, for sin and Satan want to kill us. It may even come to us losing our eternal rewards. These are rewards for our service to God, not our salvation. As Pastor Mike says, this life determines how we live the next! I want to be serving God with all my heart all my life, not slipping into sin and risking losing some of my eternal reward. Give me the strength to ALWAYS be living for You Lord Jesus!
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
If I truly love Christ I will obey his commandments. My love is shown through my actions. It is easy to say I love Christ but do my actions show it? Am I will to sacrifice sleep to read my Bible? Am I willing to step out of my comfort zone and talk to someone about Christ? Do I hate sin enough to be able to recognize it in my own life and eradicate it? This is how I will know if I love Christ or not, if I obey his commandments.
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.—If I really am a follower of Christ I cannot just say I believe because people may never know the truth about him. I need to live according to his commands so that people can know the truth and know who God is! I want be living with NO COMPROMISE!! I can’t be giving into the ways of the world. I need to be focused on God’s plan and following him above anyone else. I know that if I stay strong, I wil be rich even if I do not have everything in the world because with Christ I have everything and without him I am nothing!
MARANATHA!!!
girls workshop tomorrow 10 am :)
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments;
The way I show my love for God is through my actions. It isn’t just a feeling that I get, but rather a longing to obey His Word. If I truly love him, my life will be a direct reflection. This is my prayer that I would be truly SHOWING that I love God by my everyday lifestyle!
2 John 1:9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
John repeatedly emphasizes the importance of obedience in the Christian life. If a person lives a life characterized by disobedience, they are not really a follower of Christ! I want to abide in the teaching of Christ…read my Bible so I can hear the teaching, go to church to hear it as well, and obey it.
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.
The begining of this verse bring so much encouragement to us. We know that grace, mercy, and peace are with us as children of God. And there is nothing that will take that away.
The second part of this verse is what really stood out to me. The words in truth and love. Although sometimes the truth can be harsh we know that we are to speak it in love and God and Jesus are the perfect model for us.
3 Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ the Father’s Son, in truth and love.
It’s comforting to know that we have these things. They’re such wonderful gifts that God has given us. Grace shown in the fact we live, when we don’t deserve to and have been given away to Salvation through His Sacrifice. Mercy shown on us when we deserve to DIE, His patience and mercy gives us another chance. And that peace in knowing there’s Paradise to come.
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
We are to be faithful servants. This is yet another reminder that if we call ourselves followers of Christ, it is to show through our daily actions and words. If we blend in with the world, how is it showing that we are set apart? It says that if one was to not abide in the teaching of Christ, that person does not know God. It is so clear. Once we are saved, there are drastic changes. If people think they are saved, yet can still live in the world and be part of it, they don’t get it. As God’s children we are going to be different. We need to shine our lights.
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
We must remember to have full reliance on Jesus Christ and not ourselves! By trusting our lives completely to Him, we are abiding to the Lord’s teaching. And through the teaching, we have both the Father and the Son who love us and care for us all the days of our lives.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
This is an intense response to false doctrine, but it is appropriate because false teaching can so easily lead us astray. I pray that when people are speaking lies about God or cursing His name that I wouldn’t just be silent, even if they are nonchristians, but stand up for God and rebuke their wrong actions. I pray that I wouldnt let it just slide but rather always be looking to bring God the glory He deserves instead of letting people use His name in vain without me saying anything.
5 And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.
Even in this extremely short letter, John makes room to talk about this commandment. This makes me realize how truly important the commandment of loving one another is. I want to be a person that demonstrates love even when it is not convenient, not easy, not beneficial to me. I know that God loved us terrible sinners so much that he sent Jesus… so I need to be showing the same kind of love he showed me to other people.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
It talks a lot in this book and 1john about keeping Gods commands! It is so important as a christian to not be a hypocrite but have street cred and remain that way. Christians remain christians! I will make it my main focus to keep Gods commands that he specifically tells me in his word and to follow them! I am going to study Jesus’ life on earth and follow in his footsteps! We have heard all these commands from the beginning so it makes sense to follow and walk in them!
I like this verse too :)
I liked verse 8: “Watch yourselves, so that we may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.”
It’s important to have and keep our goals.
We always gotta keep our eyes on the prize and remember why we’re in this, and who we’re in it for.
If all of our intentions are genuinely all for God, and we don’t blow it all away, it’s really pleasing to God and it’s all for fulfilling his will.
Plus it’s always nice to remember that we have the ultimate paradise goin for us and it’s great to always do the right thing and stand up for God and what is right :)
i like verse 2.. that the Word of God will rrmain with us foever it will never leave us.I can always count on it because God’s word is all true and he will never give up on me even though i give up on him timee to time he never leaves our side and is always faithful and honest ;] i love The Lord foever <33 love everyone for alwys <3Brezzy bri
2 John 1
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
God has commanded us to live our lives by his truth and love. The law by which he has commanded us is by its nature love. God’s law is based on his love which is perfect and has only our best interests in mind. Would God love us if there was no law? Would God be concerned about our well being if there was no law for instruction? If we didn’t have His perfect law we would not have a criminal justice system that is almost fully derived from God’s law in our Bible. If we are faithful in fulfilling God’s law than we can be assured that we employ His love in our lives.
Romans 13:10 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
ELLO… I read SRY its kinda late but my computer couldn’t find it yesterday
I like verse 6,”And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.”
I like this verse because it tells us to walk in love. I need to make sure I focus on living in love and not in what I want to live as. I am often looking at people with anger instead of love I need to make sure I love others instead of just finding their faults. I need prayer and I need to ask GOD to help me live in love every second of every day.
CYA
8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.
The “not losing what we have worked for” part of this verse really stands out for me. I have learned so much about my faith and about myself this past year and a half or so that I have become a true child of God and I DO NOT want to lose that! I pray that God will keep me close to him always and if I do start to stray, that he will send a servant of his to bring me back.
I really love this verse. Its a great reminder for me, that its a way for us to show our love to God by loving others and its also a great witness!. if we dont do this then its a bad witness, and we should always be concious of what we say and do as to not stumble others.
